This grommet isolates the refrigerator's fan motor from its mounting bracket to reduce vibration and noise while keeping the motor secure. Replacing worn or missing grommets helps stop rattles and prevents the fan blade from rubbing.
- Cushions the fan motor to maintain proper alignment and clearance
- Absorbs vibration to help reduce humming, buzzing, or rattling sounds
- Helps keep the motor stable so the blade doesn't contact the shroud
- Common signs of failure include excess vibration, noise, or a loose fan motor
What's included: Includes 1 grommet. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the refrigerator before servicing
- Access the fan motor area (rear of unit or inside the freezer, depending on model) and support the motor
- Remove mounting hardware and seat the new grommet fully in the bracket/mount
- The fan blade spins freely with even clearance before reassembling and restoring power

Broke door closure cams. Scott H. • West Hills , CA • November 07, 2021
A broken cam can be bad news. The door can swing open from its own weight. I ordered a door closure kit (cams) plus shims. My fridge needs a stack of shims on the fridge door to align it vertically. The old shims had broken and pieces fell out. The lack of support may have caused the cams to fail since they sit on the shims. I used the new shim as a pattern to fabricate a single aluminum shim for more strength. The head of the screw anchoring the lower cam was torn up. Fortunately, it...
