A refrigerator door would not seal it had been blown off in a wind storm William H. • Sierra Vista , AZ • December 17, 2014
A friends family had left her refrigerator out on a porch while they were remodeling the house she was supposed to move into. A wind storm blew the refrigerator off the porch and tore the door off. It wasn't dented at all, but when her son pu the door back on, it wouldn't seal. She asked for some help fixing it. I ordered replacement parts for the upper and lower hinge. The parts arrived quickly. I unscrewed the top hinge which was slightly bent. Set the door on its side and replaced the bent...

Ice stripper removes ice cubes from the ice maker mold so the dispenser or storage bin fills properly. Replacing a worn or broken stripper helps the ice maker eject cubes cleanly and reduces ice jams or stuck cubes. What it does:
- Pushes or guides harvested cubes out of the ice mold into the bin during the ice maker's harvest cycle.
- Prevents cubes from sticking in the mold; a damaged stripper can cause incomplete ejection or leftover ice in the mold.
- Works with the ice maker's ejector mechanism to maintain consistent cube release and storage.
- A faulty or broken stripper may lead to noisy operation, partial fills, or visible ice build-up in the mold.
What's included: One ice stripper. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair to avoid electrical shock.
- Remove the ice maker or access panel per the manufacturer's instructions to reach the stripper; keep small parts and screws organized.
- Inspect the ice mold and surrounding components for damage or ice build-up; clear ice before installing the new stripper.
- After installation, restore power and run a test harvest cycle to ensure proper cube ejection.

This grommet isolates the refrigerator's fan motor from its mounting bracket to reduce vibration and noise while keeping the motor secure. Replacing worn or missing grommets helps stop rattles and prevents the fan blade from rubbing.
- Cushions the fan motor to maintain proper alignment and clearance
- Absorbs vibration to help reduce humming, buzzing, or rattling sounds
- Helps keep the motor stable so the blade doesn't contact the shroud
- Common signs of failure include excess vibration, noise, or a loose fan motor
What's included: Includes 1 grommet. Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the refrigerator before servicing
- Access the fan motor area (rear of unit or inside the freezer, depending on model) and support the motor
- Remove mounting hardware and seat the new grommet fully in the bracket/mount
- The fan blade spins freely with even clearance before reassembling and restoring power

Water trickled out of water dispenser and did not make ice but sounded like it was working Michael C. • Fairfax Station , VA • November 22, 2016
Replaced the valve and water tank/head assembly. Not 100% sure i needed to replace both, but both were still cheaper than paying someone to come fix my fridge!! And it worked perfectly. Entire project took less than 45 minutes. Valve was simple to replace, and water tank/head assembly, while a little tricky to get out was also simple to install. Water dispenser and ice maker working perfectly now, so a very worthwhile project.
