Replaced a black front panel with a stainless front panel. Micah J. • Anderson , IN • March 24, 2014
You need to remove the entire compactor basket, so that can be a little unwieldy. There are 8 total Phillips head screws. Two on each side of the wrap-around portion of the panel, two on the bottom of the panel, and two larger screws that are used to hold the foot pedal in place. The two lower screws on the bottom of the panel also screw through the rubber stop strip on the bottom of the basket. Recommend removing the basket and then putting it somewhere where it can't do any harm with...

A failed freezer door switch was causing the fridge to display that the door was open when it was not this caused it to beep at random Kara H. • Charleston , SC • March 08, 2016
We actually were able to determine that one of the freezer switches was bad and taped it down for about 3 days. The beeping stopped. Our fridge has two freezer switches and one fridge side switch. I ordered all three from these guys. They were cheaper than Whirlpool by about $20 for parts and about $15 for shipping. The part numbers had superseded too many times to count, usually that doesn't matter but in this case it did. The new parts were just slightly bigger than the old parts AND...

Broken handle foot pedal and missing parts Donald M. • Lake Arrowhead , CA • April 05, 2015
This trash compactor is in our vacation home. We never use it and now we are selling the house. When I looked to replace it I was amazed at how expensive a new compactor would cost. I found the serial number on the current compact entered it and your web site came up. Your schematics were excellent and made the repair very easy!

This ram stop is a small control component used in the ram assembly of trash compactors. It limits ram travel so the compactor stops at the correct position and the drawer opens smoothly after each cycle.
- Limits the upward travel of the ram to a fixed stop point
- Helps the ram return fully to the up position at the end of the cycle
- Reduces binding and prevents over-travel that can strain components
- Typical symptoms include a drawer that won't open or is hard to open, or a ram that doesn't return to the top
What's included: Includes 1 ram stop.
- Disconnect power to the compactor before servicing
- Remove the drawer/bin for access and support the ram
- Remove the damaged stop and install the replacement, ensuring it is fully seated and correctly oriented
- Run an empty test cycle to confirm the ram stops at the proper height

"solid mode" quit working 'normal mode" was fine Don W. • Astatula , FL • November 15, 2016
Verified "solid mode" side of switch was open, ordered new switch.
Removal of old switch and installation of new switch is easy, the switch is held in with tabs, finger pressure was enough to allow the old switch to be removed. The new switch then snaps right in.
One minor issue I encountered was while the new switch had wire color labels for each contact, I had to swap the two outer leads (orange/black, and yellow) to get the operating mode to match the front panel labels. I'm assuming...

Ram stuck in down position due to bearing going out Cody G. • Conway , AR • July 16, 2020
I bought new thrust races, a drive gear kit, bearings and a sprocket. When the bearing went out, the thrust races, washers, one bottom plate, and a sprocket was eaten up by the the chain due to the slack being created. I followed the video for the Drive Gear Kit repair and everything went together well. I did have to remove the tracks from inside the compactor in order to remove the cardboard liner that "hides" the drive rods. Additionally, be careful to not over-tension the chain when...
