This should be an easy 5 minute three screws out and three screws back in job....but on older stuff it's never easy is it? The screws that hold the skirt on my burner were, like the skirt, rusted solid and despite soaking with PB-1 Blaster they just broke off when I tried to remove them. Very easy fix. I couldn't find the part number so actually ordered this part just by looking at the picture. Fortunately I guessed right and the part was exactly what I needed. I just had to slip the part over the part that holds the temperature control knob on my gas cook top. I received the part the next day after I ordered it! Very satisfied. Read more

Researched online for a solution and found someone who described a similar problem. Their solution was to replace the gas pressure regulator. So I decided to order one and try it. Easy to replace in my case - less than 30 minutes. It SOLVED the problem. Burners light almost immediately now! Saved the cost of a service call and the prospect of replacing the entire cook top.
