2 top burner retainer screws were rusting away after many years of service John C. • Philadelphia , PA • July 10, 2016
I was drilling new holes from the top to replace them with stainless steel screws
The 1/4" tubing broke free from one of the burners. Getting to it was a nightmare. These so called solid tops were built like an erector set. but I prevailed. I did take one shortcut. I cut the replacement tube and only replaced the damaged burner end and installed a compression fitting.
This helped save some time getting to the valve end which was not damaged.

Oven bottom had a rusted hole grease dripped into it and oven caught on fire! Vivian C. • Elk Rapids , MI • March 30, 2015
I ordered a new oven bottom ($65 instead of new stove). I put it off, anticipating that it wouldn't be as simple as it sounded. When I finally put the new one in, it literally took 4 minutes!! Remove the two screws in the back, old one slid out, new one slid in. Simple.
