Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lower freezer door would not stay shut turns out a shaft with gears was missing from initial install   Bruce M. • New River , AZ • August 08, 2016

Ordered the parts, which was a pair of ice gears and the bar that connects them. Had to refer to upper freezer drawer to figure out how the gears fit into the rails. Turns out they snap into a plastic hub that is riveted on the rail. Took some effort to finally get them to snap on. At first it seemed like they would not fit. Really had to apply force to get them to go on. Then added bar, which seems to me to be slightly short in length. It works, but I think if any tension is put on it,... Read more

Upper Hinge Assembly (Refrigerator Door)
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 4775JA2101B

This upper hinge assembly secures and guides the refrigerator door, restoring proper door alignment and smooth opening/closing. It replaces a worn or damaged hinge to help stop sagging, rubbing, or noisy movement. What it does:

  • Provides the pivot point that lets the refrigerator door swing open and closed.
  • Restores correct door alignment to reduce gaps and improve sealing.
  • Stops symptoms like a sagging or misaligned door, scraping sounds, or loose movement.
  • Works with existing screws and trim when installed correctly.
What's included: One upper hinge assembly. Install notes:
  • Unplug the appliance or disconnect power before starting any repair.
  • Support the door while removing and installing the hinge to prevent it from dropping.
  • Use the manufacturer's service manual or diagrams for fastener locations and torque; do not force parts.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My LG refrigerator ice maker was leaking water inside the ice maker cavity in the left side door in addition I was getting moisture around the ice door seal and the cold air ducts   James W. • Seal Beach , CA • October 20, 2018

I replaced the ice maker assembly, which included the motor and electronics. I also replaced the door seal and the input cold air duct seals. The ice maker is mounted with only 2 philips screws, so it is easy to remove. The most difficult part is the harness, specifically the ground screw. The issue is that the wire is short and you need to turn the unit in order to get a screwdriver in. It would help to have a short screwdriver, but I was, finally, able to remove it with the full length... Read more
