I think it was leaking both from the front and the bottom somehow. The boot seal was pretty cruddy anyways so I figured even if it was wrong, it was time to replace. You basically had to take the entire washing machine top and front off. This takes a little bit of time and organization but is relatively easy. While you are doing all this you might as well clean all the filters and make sure none of the valves and tubes are leaking. Getting it apart was pretty easy. The hard part is putting the... I removed the drum and found that the spider was totally broken. Decided to order a new drum with the spider. The item came as expected, only took a couple of days, replace it and voila, a got a washer fixed. Just want to mention that because of that problem, the tub cover and the gasket connected to the door needed to be replaced too because we waited to long to see that there was a problem with the vibration of the drum during the spinning cycle. This replacement outer door frame fit perfectly. All that is needed is a screwdriver. Anyone can do this fix. The new door frame however is slightly redesigned from my original 2006 model and the plastic handle insert, although it fits, does not cover the full length of the new door frame design. However I don't think anyone will notice this but me. Read more
My father in law helped me and in about 2 hours we were able to take the machine apart far enough to get the gasket off. Putting the new gasket on wasn't bad; getting the clamp on was a challenge! Definitely a two person job!! The rests wasn't bad at all. My appliance guy said I wouldn't want to have to replace the gasket because the necessary tool alone was $80. It took some time and I needed a second set of hands for the clamps, but I was one pretty pleased mama when I was able to do this... Read more

Washer kept unbalancing, I found one of the shocks had lost it's pin. I replaced the three shock absorbers, springs and also water valves since the old ones were clogged. The top comes off very easily (two screws) to access the water valves. I used a hand truck to lay it on it's side and with the back removed I had access to everything without taking the front off. through the back and large access hole in the bottom, a major time saver. This balance weight counteracts the spinning motion of your washer drum to reduce vibration and noise during operation. It's typically a heavy concrete or metal block attached to the drum assembly. Replace it if your washer shakes violently, walks across the floor, or makes loud banging noises during the spin cycle.
This wire harness connects electrical components in your washer, carrying power and control signals between the main control board and various parts. It ensures proper communication between the control system and motors, valves, and sensors. Replace this harness if your washer has electrical issues, intermittent operation, or certain functions stop working.
