The Ice Room Fan Motor is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It circulates cold air within the ice compartment to maintain the optimal temperature for ice production and storage. By ensuring even air distribution, the fan motor helps keep the ice at the right consistency and prevents it from melting or clumping together.
The ice room fan motor can fail due to various reasons, including wear and tear from continuous use, electrical issues, or obstruction from ice buildup. Over time, the motor bearings can wear out, or the fan blades can become damaged.
Symptoms of a bad ice room fan motor include:
- The ice maker not producing ice or producing less ice than usual
- Ice melting or clumping together
- Unusual noises coming from the ice compartment
- Temperature fluctuations in the ice room
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore refrigerators.
This part fixes the following symptoms

LG er 1f error code (ice maker fan) Thomas W. • Manassas , VA • March 18, 2019

The Defrost Heater is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. This part is responsible for melting away frost and ice that accumulates on the evaporator coils during the cooling cycle, ensuring the refrigerator operates efficiently and maintains the proper temperature.
Common causes for defrost heater failure include electrical failures such as blown fuses or faulty wiring, wear and tear from normal use, and damage from moisture or corrosion.
Symptoms of a failing Defrost Heater include:
- Buildup of frost in the freezer compartment
- The refrigerator struggling to maintain the set temperature
- Leaks inside the refrigerator due to ice melting inconsistently
- Increased energy usage as the fridge works harder to cool
This OEM LG part is also compatible with some Kenmore models.
