The Igniter Sensor is an OEM part for LG dryers. This sensor plays a critical role in the ignition process, ensuring that the gas ignites properly to produce the heat necessary for drying clothes efficiently. It helps monitor and regulate the ignition temperature.
Over time, the igniter sensor can become faulty due to regular use, exposure to high temperatures, or electrical issues. These factors can lead to a malfunction, resulting in the dryer not heating properly or failing to start.
Symptoms of a bad igniter sensor include:
- Dryer not heating up
- Long drying times
- Dryer not starting
- Unusual smells or noises during operation
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.

Dryer started gas line good won't heat early model no codes Timothy M. • Roaring Spring , PA • November 25, 2016
Used video and took apart dru, this was extremely helpful. I bypassed the belt and door switch. Tested gas valves (gas disconnected) with multimeter. Found that the igniter worked the first gas valve, but the second gas valve would not open and the igniter would stay on. Found a flow chart online that shows the flame detect turns on causing the gas to turn on and shuts off the igniter. I replaced it and tested again. Igniter turns on, shuts off, then power to the second gas valve turns...

Dryer would start then quit after about 5 seconds. No error codes-timer running nasal burnt smell. Larry T. • Morristown , TN • December 10, 2017
I replaced the dryer motor. I followed the repair video on the Appliance Parts Pro site, with a few modifications to the procedure. I loosened the control panel and flipped it forward to improve access to the wiring connectors. I also loosened the front panel and tipped it forward before disconnecting the door switch as there wasn't enough space to disconnect the switch otherwise. Removal of the blower assembly required the use of penetrating lubricant as the assembly was stuck on the motor...

This is a mounting holder or grille that secures the moisture sensor bars inside the dryer drum area. The moisture sensor detects how wet the clothes are and signals the control board to end the cycle when they're dry. Replace this holder if it is cracked, broken, or missing, which can cause the sensor bars to be misaligned and lead to clothes coming out still damp or the dryer running too long.

Sheets broke cover guide with filter and sensor Stefan H. • Ponte Vedra Beach , FL • March 15, 2019
I have order three parts, guide filter, cover guide, and sensor assembly. My previous cover guide was from two parts, when sensor assembly was one of them. New part ( guide cover ) was all in one piece so I just transfer old metal part of sensor to new cover guide and I don't need that sensor assembly anymore. I have ordered all three parts overnight by Fedex, ordered 15 min before 5pm, so next day it was here.
Dryer is fixed, I'm happy.

Dryer was setup for propane very dangerous when connected to natural gas dryer was exhibiting low to no heat with a very pronounced presence of a strong raw gas smell Robert R. • Houston , TX • May 04, 2015
I ordered the natural gas conversion orifice with 2 day shipping, I also ordered for only maintenance reasons a new ignitor, as they are very common wear and tear item (like a spark plug on a gas engine or a glow plug on a diesel engine ). Both items came promptly and well protected . Easy install, only needed a Phillips screwdriver for entire repair. R&R top first, r&r front display panel,r&r door,r&r front panel,r&r drum (very easy), replaced ignitor and orifice. Total job took 30 min. I...

Part Number: EBF61734701
This micro switch is a compact, snap-action electrical switch that sends an on/off signal when a lever, latch, or paddle is moved. Replacing a worn switch restores reliable detection and control response for the affected function.
- Converts mechanical movement into an electrical open/close signal to the control
- Commonly used for lever/paddle actuators, latches, or interlock detection within the appliance
- Safe symptom clues: no response when actuated, intermittent operation, or a function stuck on/off
- Physical clues: weak or absent "click" when pressed, heat discoloration or damage at terminals
What's included: 1 micro switch
- Disconnect power before servicing; if the product is connected to a water line, close the supply valve
- Note wire positions and terminal labels (COM/NO/NC); transfer wires one at a time to matching terminals
- Match the actuator orientation and mounting position to the original for proper operation
- After installation, verify continuity with a multimeter and test function before reassembly
