Fix grinding noises or a drum that won't spin with this washer motor rotor assembly. Common when spline teeth strip. Moderately difficult repair.
I looked on the internet for similar descriptions for similar models and found many angry reports. Most said that the rotor assembly was bad as the nut that held the rotor and other parts together had loosened and allowed slippage between steel and plastic splines. Yes, I know that sounds like trouble, but apparently not to LG when they designed it. Most buyers complained that the part was covered by warrantee but not the labor and labor had been quoted as $400 to $600 dollars. Time to buy... Read more

Removed the top cover while the machine was operating, located the source of the leak. The top filler tube had worn a hole in a flex point. Found the right part on this site, replaced it with little effort. While in there I saw a similar hose and decided to replace it as its time was probably up too. So far so good, washing clothes and no leaks!! Great prices and best of all the right parts were delivered in a timely manner. Thanks for making this so easy. Only specialty tool used was hose... Replacement suspension spring for washer tub support. Installs between cabinet and tub to absorb vibration. Replace if broken, stretched, or missing.
Our 10-year-old LG WM2487HWMA front load washer had gradually developed multiple problems. It sounded like a jet engine during high speed spin, both the drain pump and circulation pumps were noisy, it would not drain properly (water was coming in during spin cycle), no water was spraying out at the top of the door into the drum like it is supposed to when the circulation pump was running. It's amazing we had still been able to wash clothes at all! With the help of the excellent... Read more
Concrete balance weight mounts to washer outer tub to stabilize drum during spin. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to restore proper vibration control.
My problem was a broken spider. I followed your excellent video, but have some additional input that should be incorporated in a new video showing the required upgrade procedures and parts required to repair an early model with damaged front tub half using currently available parts. Don't expect everything to go as easy as the video. 1) Used 4lb. brass hammer to drive shaft from bearings. 2) Torqued spider bolts to 20ft lbs. with thread locking compound. 3) attached rubber seal to front tub... This OEM replacement part is a washer door assembly. The washer door assembly consists of the main components that make up the front door of the washer. Over time, a washer door can become inoperable due to excessive wear and tear. If the washer door is no longer shutting or opening properly or is damaged to the point of inoperability, it will need to be replaced. To replace the washer door, start by making sure the washer is unplugged. Once it has been powered off, proceed to open the door. Locate the screws that attach the hinges to the door. Unthread the screws and lift the door off from its hinges. Set the old door to the side and proceed to place the new door on its hinges. Fasten the screws that secure it. Once secured, open and close the new door to make sure it is functioning properly. This authentic OEM part is sourced directly from the manufacturer and is compatible with LG brand washers.
I contacted All Appliance Live Chat . The told me I needed to buy the entire door which was reasonably priced. They gave me the correct part number.
