Replaced the spider on the back of the inner tub. Cleaned all orifices and re-secured same. General cleaning. Replaced broken balance ring along the out edge of the inner tub. Video was fantastic although I did not see it until almost had the unit torn down. It still helped a lot to know that I was doing what I had to do and then reattaching everything. Watched you tube for recommendations and decided it must be the master control board. I ordered a new one on Monday standard shipping and received it on Thursday. Had a bit of trouble removing a few of the wiring harnesses from old board but new one went in smoothly. Whole project took approx 1-1/2 hours working time. Hit the button and "yes sir" Houston we have lift off. We are again up and running. The master controller is expensive, but I would guess I saved myself about $200.00 by doing it... Read more

I called LG customer support and they told me they could not determine the cause of the problem on the telephone and to call a repairman. I knew it wasn't an interlock problem so I removed the bezel around the controls, then removed the Pcb Assembly and display. the assembly came out easily by removing 8 screws and separating three connectors. The video repair produced by Appliance Parts was excellent and enabled me to do the job. It took longer than I thought because I had no experience with this type of repair. I ended up replacing the whole tub assembly because three spider bolts had to be replaced and the spider did not come with the bolts which ended up costing me almost double. Bolts from LG should have been provided with the spider because they are stainless and special bolts. They also could not be bought separately. Based... Read more
