My refrigerator developed a leak in the water line that serves the ice maker and cold water dispenser John M. • Walkersville , MD • November 24, 2014
I replaced the solenoid valve and trimmed a small amount of the tubing that serves the ice maker and water dispenser. The only problem was there is almost NO slack in that tubing. If you trim more than a half inch off, you won't have enough tubing to connect it on both ends.

Ice maker quit working. Lee H. • Cleveland , MN • June 04, 2020
This was easier then I made it. Originally took the actual ice maker out without removing the whole system from the door. There are 3 silver screws that do that hold the whole mechanism in place, as opposed to the 5 white screws that hold the ice maker in place. With the entire assembly out it was a matter of routing the ground wire, retaping the wires, and then the whole assembly went back into the door without a problem. Need a phillips and a flat screwdriver, I also found a needle nose...

Refrigerator door was not closing well gasket on door was old needed to be replaced Igor M. • Encinitas , CA • November 26, 2016
Ordered the gasket first from Sears, but they sent me the wrong part, i.e. on the drawing on their web site the part was right (ADX73550621 - Refrigerator Door Gasket, Left), but when I received it - it was too small and didn't fit. Returned it to Sears and tried to find it somewhere else. Fortunately found the part on this site. It was helpful that the part photo was taken with an inch grid in the background, so I could compare dimensions against the old piece. The dimensions matched (wanted...

The Refrigerator Flipper Assembly is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. This assists in the smooth opening and closing of the refrigerator door. It ensures an airtight seal when the door is closed, preventing cool air from escaping and maintaining the refrigerator's internal temperature.
Causes of a malfunctioning Refrigerator Flipper Assembly can range from physical damage, such as cracks or breakage, to wear and tear from regular use.
Symptoms of a bad Refrigerator Flipper Assembly include:
- Difficulty in opening or closing the refrigerator door
- A noticeable gap when the door is supposed to be sealed shut
- Increased energy consumption as the refrigerator works harder to maintain its temperature
- Spoilage of food items quicker than expected due to poor temperature regulation
This OEM LG part is also compatible with some Kenmore models.

Broken spring in my LG refrigerator lfx25978st/00 Maurice H. • Seattle , WA • October 08, 2020
Went looking for the spring for my refrigerator door mullion and it is not available for my model. Was told that I had to purchase the entire mullion for $130. Saw some videos on the web about replacing the spring making sure I got the one with the right number of coils. My broken one had 6 coils, I looked at the picture of the spring and counted six coils so I bought it and it worked fine.

Water tank assembly leaking Mark Y. • Ballinger , TX • August 22, 2016
Replaced tank assembly. Actually I think the supply hose was originally not fully seated in the tank and I think I could have re-seated it deeper through the gray bushing. When I set the line into the new tank, still leaking. Pulled out supply line and reset using a little more force and line went into the tank. Took the bushing clip off the other tank and used it for the supply line bushing. So far, no leaks. The thing to remember is to push the edges of each hose bushing inward to pull...

This run capacitor provides the continuous electrical boost needed to keep the refrigerator's compressor motor running efficiently. It stores and releases energy to maintain the proper phase and voltage for the compressor during normal operation. Replace this capacitor if the compressor struggles to start, hums without running, shuts off intermittently, or if the refrigerator stops cooling altogether.

Lg refrigerator compressor would intermittantly hum and shut down but then start normally minutes later Don C. • Pearland , TX • July 23, 2016
After watching repair videos, I decided I could order the parts needed and do it myself for less than a service call, not to mention the additional cost for parts markup and installation that a service technician would charge. I am very pleased that I did. I ordered the start relay, overload and capacitor with some help from Ilya at customer service to make sure I was getting the correct replacements. Installation was easy. The hardest thing was contorting my body into a position where I could...
