John R In-Indianapolis , IN September 09, 2023 Appliance: Model LG LFCS25426S/00 2 problems. Condensation between 2 doors. Mullion heater defective and very easy to replace and noisy evaporator fan. Removed 2 screws from mullion strip heater and slid it up off the tabs at top and bottom. Unhooked the plug and removed it. Verified proper mullion heater and then plugged wiring connection back together, positioned slide clips back in line and slid mullion down onto the clips. Tucked the wiring back into opening positioned cover back in place and reiinstalled the 2 screws. It took about 10 minutes for the entire job. the 2nd problem was a noisy evaporator motor and is a more intense repair but if you are mechanically inclined it is not a bad job. There are 2 screws that hold the tray in the freezer door that are located at the front of the slide rails. remove them, lift out the top tray and then raise up the main tray from the rear and remove it. The door assembly should lift up. remove it. Also there are 3 screws each in the lower door glides and 2 screws in the upper that have to be removed. The lower left slide has a plug for the light that has to be disconnected. there are 2 screws that hold the ice maker in place and 2 tabs that that have to be released on the sides with a flat screwdriver. Remove the icemaker. On the back cover there is a screw on the top left on a cover that has the fan plug behind it, unplug it. The rear cover will then be able to removed by gently pulling from the top and releasiing it . there is also a sensor that needs unplugged on the top right side before you can remove the back cover. the fan is held iinplace with 2 screws and is very easy to remove. take picture of the routing of the wiring and make sure it goes back the same way. You will need a small wire tie since you have to cut the old one. Once the fan is removed, there are 2 rubber end pcs that have to be on the new fan so make sure you get them back on where they belong. Reinstall in the reverse order and it is not a very hard job. it took me about 30-40 minutes to do the entire job. Jerry M Kaukauna , WI October 09, 2024 Lg side by side refrigerator with freezer on the bottom the partition that is attached to the left door stopped working This partition is designed to fold out, when you close the door, so that the gap between the right and left side door is sealed. In this case because of the partition being broken somehow, it would not fold out, and the left door would not close tight. With the left door open wide, I folded out the partition and discovered that about halfway down from the top of the partition, there is a hinge assembly where a wire passes from the partition itself and into the left door. I later discovered that this wire was for a heating system inside the partition which kept it from freezing because the left door contained the ice maker unit. Anyway, this hinge assembly, which is plastic, had the plastic cracked all the way around it, and the hinges itself was loose. However the entire partition stayed in place somehow and just wouldn’t swing out or unfold when the door was being closed. Figuring out how this partition assembly was supposed to work, I found that at the top of the assembly, was a plastic nipple that as the door was just about to close tight, would make contact with a piece mounted on the refrigerator itself. This piece guided the partition assembly to unfold, which allowed the door to be closed tight with the partition in place. But because of the broken hinge, the partition assembly had a slight sag to it and would not make contact with guide piece on the refrigerator. And therefore not close properly. I decided to fix it myself by swapping out the partition assembly. I went on AppliancePartsPros.com and found my refrigerator based on the model number and not only did I find the partition assembly. They also had a video on how to replace the partition assembly. It could not have been any easier. Take off two screws, lift up on the assembly disconnects it at the top and bottom from the door, then gently pull on the wire where the hinge and the two screws are located. As you pull out the wire, you find a connection plug. Unplug it, and the entire unit is off. You just reverse the removal process to install the new assembly. And the problem was fixed. AppliancesPartsPros saved me the money on labor costs for this repair. Thanks Guys!! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Joshua C Dallas , TX August 27, 2014 Appliance: Model LFX28978ST Newer lg french door refrigerator with a broken spring I was looking for the sping which was a smaller part that wasnt available and was able to find the entire connector piece for the two doors. This is the hinged piece that makes the 2 franch doors have a proper seal. It said I was 12th in line on hold but my call was answered in less than 10 minutes. The lady who took my call did everything to try to help me locate the small spring but it wasnt available. I purchased the entire door connector for $45 and it came in 3 days later. I installed it in less than 10 minutes and it saved me replacing a 4 year old $2700 refrigerator. Small price to pay and the part fit perfect. I have gotten parts for my stove also in the past. These guys have turned me from a replace it guy to a repair it guy. Its way cheaper and kinda fun. I hope you guys are around for a long time cause Im sure I will be calling regularly. Thanks so much! Read More... 33 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Andrew S Fort Worth , TX June 18, 2016 Appliance: Model LG STAINLESS STEEL LFX25976 Left french door mullion bracket was broken and the wire connector was severed We ordered a new door mullion from appliancepartspros.com on a Sunday and received it on Tuesday. The shipping speed was awesome! There are only two screws to remove on the middle bracket and one small electrical connector to unplug. After that you slide the mullion upward off of the two plastic holders on the top and bottom. The top holder was partially broken...and unfortunately you can't buy that piece separate. So I improvised and used some gorilla glue (super glue) to hold it in place and it worked great! Hopefully it holds forever. Over all it was a great experience and I'll definitely order more parts in the future. Thanks!
