Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 5989JA0002N

The Icemaker Assembly is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It is responsible for producing and storing ice within the freezer compartment.

These issues can lead to inconsistent ice production or complete failure to produce ice.

Symptoms of a bad icemaker assembly include:

  • The icemaker not producing ice
  • Leaking water around the icemaker
  • Ice cubes that are misshapen or smaller than usual
  • Unusual noises coming from the icemaker

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Replacement for LG ice maker 5989ja0002g   Allen H. • Bossier City , LA • July 28, 2023

I have an LG side by side refrigerator from 2004. It’s a great refrigerator, even after 19 years, with a giant ice storage bin that holds probably 15 pounds of ice. The ice maker quit making ice so I started looking for the replacement. The model number on the original ice maker is 5989JA0002G and that model number is no longer made. I found mixed information on what model number replaces the old one. The dimensions were my biggest concern because in the side by side the ice maker mounts on... Read more

Holder,Gasket
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 4930JJ2028A

The Gasket Holder is an OEM replacement part for LG refrigerators. It is inside the freezer door and functions to securely seal in cold air. The holder provides a mounting point and compression fit for the door gasket, preventing air leakage along the perimeter.

Symptoms of a bad gasket holder include:

  • Cold air escaping around the door seal
  • Frost or moisture buildup near the gasket area
  • The door not shutting tightly

Note: About 38.5" long

Over time, the holder's mounting points can warp or weaken from repeated opening and closing of the freezer door. This allows for gasket movement and compromised sealing.

This replacement is compatible with Sears/Kenmore models as well.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broke gasket holder on both sides   Ken C. • Greensboro , NC • November 04, 2014

I ordered the parts and they arrived in 2 days. While the parts were in transit, I watched the video concerning replacing the gasket holder. WHAT A LIFE-SAVER! From start to finish took less than 60 minutes!!! Note: I did take some water and ran it down the channel where the gasket goes to make it easier to slide onto the gasket. Read more
