I replaced the solenoid valve and trimmed a small amount of the tubing that serves the ice maker and water dispenser. The only problem was there is almost NO slack in that tubing. If you trim more than a half inch off, you won't have enough tubing to connect it on both ends. Read more

Replaced ice maker. Some confusion as to which part # it was as the model number cross reference shows the one I purchased was not for my model refrigerator when it actually was. Secondly, a few comments from others said the switch out was simple. Only 3 screws holding in the ice maker although one of the three was in a tight spot . That is technically true. • Door won't open or close

I was able to locate just the replacement spring so I didn't need to replace the entire articulating mullion (door flap). I was able to insert the top stem completely and then twist the spring slightly to slide in the bottom stem so I didn't need to remove the mullion at all. Replaced tank assembly. Actually I think the supply hose was originally not fully seated in the tank and I think I could have re-seated it deeper through the gray bushing. When I set the line into the new tank, still leaking. Pulled out supply line and reset using a little more force and line went into the tank. I watched the repair video that was excellent saved at least two hundred or more dollars.When I called Sears all they said was LG would not tell them what the error code was and they would send a repairman which would be $99 to show up plus parts and labor.
