This is a flanged lock nut. It’s designed to apply tension, typically on a joint that needs to have a certain amount of flex. As such, it’s mostly used on snowblower chutes and lawnmower handles. They can remain in place, but with a forgiving connection that can take a beating. The nut size is 3/8, with a thread size of 16. A lock nut will generally last for many years. However, the silicone ring inside will wear down if it’s frequently tightened and loosened. It needs to be replaced when it will no longer reliably remain in place. Generally, this begins as a symptom of slight slippage and worsens as time goes on. Thankfully, whether it’s being used on a snowblower or a lawnmower, this nut is generally straightforward to access. Simply unscrew the old nut, then screw the new nut on until it’s nice and tight. Our flanged lock nuts are genuine OEM MTD nuts, and they are sold individually.

This replacement hairpin is a certified OEM part manufactured to match the exact specifications required for use with a wide range of lawn and home appliances. The range of tools that use this clip include lawn mowers, snowblowers, pressure washers, cultivators, grass baggers, and lawn tractors. This hairpin is used to secure a clip that attaches the wheel to an appliance. As this pin is located near the ground, it is easy for an operator to accidentally bash their tool into the side of a tree, rock, or wall and knock the hair pin out of the wheel pin. If this happens and the operator is unaware of it, the pin will likely be lost forever. Without a hairpin, the wheel will become loose and possibly even fall off. This is an easy repair, though, as it only requires the appliance owner to secure the wheel and then insert a replacement pin. This high-quality replacement part is sourced from its original manufacturer and is compatible with machines made by Murray, Snapper, and Craftsman. This replacement hairpin does not include any additional hardware and ships individually.
This 5 x 55 hex bolt is designed for many types of lawn and garden equipment. It is generally used to secure the muffler in place. Each bolt is made of durable metal. If the bolt snaps or becomes damaged or corroded, it will need to be replaced. Keeping a defective hex bolt installed can cause the muffler to eventually come loose.A visual inspection of the hex bolt will indicate whether it is working correctly. If it needs to be replaced, a screwdriver will be required. Place the lawn and garden equipment on a flat surface and remove the spark plug wire for safety. The bolts and any other damaged parts can be removed. Use an Allen wrench to add in the new hex bolt. This is an authentic OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold as an individual part. The 5 x 55 hex bolt is designed to be used with tillers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, edgers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and pole pruners manufactured by Shindaiwa, Echo, and Mantis.
