The Control Module is an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers. This module controls all the electronics and programming that run the dishwasher cycles. It monitors temperatures, times dishes, and ensures the appropriate levels of water, detergent and heat are used in each cycle.

Over time electronic components can fail or become damaged. Accidental impact or water exposure can also cause issues.

Symptoms of a bad control module include:

  • Failure to start or run cycles properly
  • Error codes appearing
  • Incorrect temperatures being reached
  • Cycles not completing fully or partially running cycles

This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models.

For Bosch Control Module (Part Number: OEM17208609)

Diyjackson for Model Number Bosch SHX65T55UC/02

After a shock event happened mid wash cycle and flipped the breaker, there was water that didn't drain, so we flipped the switch on the fuse box and ordered/replaced the drain pump with hopes that was the culprit. The machine will no longer turn on despite it showing it has power. We have tried finding the source of such event with no luck. We are seeing this part recommended based on another similar question here. Could you help us understand why this is the best solution? Do you think this was a problem from the start and that the drain pump is not the problem at all? What would cause this to fail suddenly? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

1 Answer

DIYJackson, if the shock event was an electrical short or water that leaked enough to create a short, this can damage the control module 00752738. If there is not a damaged wire and the module does not send voltage to the user interface, the control module would need to be replaced.

Joe, if the check valve 00611320 is not stuck and opens in the direction of the drain hose, then the control module would be the likely failure based on the information provided.

Dennis, with the power supply turned off to the dishwasher, the on/off switch 00620775 would need to be tested for continuity when it is pressed to the on position. If there is not continuity, it would need to be replaced. If there is, the next step would be to plug it back in and turn the power supply on for voltage testing. If voltage reaches the on/off switch, the failure would likely be in the user control 00746432. If voltage does not reach the switch, the failure would be in the power module 00752738.

Tony for Model Number SHP65T55UC/01

I have a Bosch dishwasher SHP65T55UC/01 that was given to me. When I hooked it up and hit start, water began to flow rapidly into the side inlet tank and then overflowed into the bottom basin, triggering an E15 error. I turned the water pressure down from the water line to see if slowing down the flow of water would help it not overflow. It stopped overflowing, but instead all the water flowed into the dishwasher, but the circulation pump never kicked on. The water kept flowing until it filled the inside bottom of the dishwasher and began to leak around the door. So I shut off the water supply. Any idea what could be the cause of the problem?

1 Answer

Tony, as this model uses a timed fill, it is likely that the main control module 00752738 has failed. If the water valve is receiving voltage for more than 60 seconds, the control is not managing the fill time properly. If the valve is not receiving voltage for more than 60 seconds, the valve 10023852 may be sticking open (usually can be found if the power is turned off but the valve is still letting water through).

Steve Palthe for Model Number SHP65T55UC/01

Bosch dishwasher poor spray pressure; otherwise cycling and functioning properly. Replaced bad water in switch. filled properly now...still insufficient spray pressure. Replaced pump htr assy. per video. Now it wont turn on! Nothing on display. Removed front to double check all plugs. have power at on off switch, when pressed it sends power to control module. Various outputs of control module activate when on/off pushed but nothing comes on or stays activated when on/off released. Inspected inside of module - dry and components look fine. What am I missing? All components are plugged in.

1 Answer

Steve, If you have power to the control module but the unit will not start then this will be a faulty control module that will need to be replaced.
