For Bosch Control Module, With End Of Cycle Tone, Shu 99 (Integ (Part Number: OEM8413242)

Mike K for Model Number shv4303uc/u11

After the on button is pushed on and the cycle button is depressed, the indicator light comes on and you shut the door the cycle starts then stops.Open the door and indicator light is off. Tried to run a diagnostic cycle...turned unit on depressed the 2 cycle buttons. lights came on then slowly dim and go out. If I try this again..nothing happens. If I flip the breaker off for a while and do this again it works. Each time is shorter, now it doesn't work at all. Checked the on/off switch...2 pairs of controlled wires...both pair show continuity when switch is on. I'm leaning toward the control module as the problem. Does this sound reasonable? Thank you

Bill, This issue would most likely be caused by a bad water valve on the unit. The flood switch is being activated which would be caused by a faulty water valve.

Hello Jay, It sounds like the drain pump is probably the motor you are hearing. This explains the no fill and the motor on with the door opened. You will need to replace the water inlet valve 00425458 and while you have the old one off, before installing the new one, use the opening where the new one goes to access the base. Use a teri-cloth towel not washed in fabric softener to "wick" the water out of the base. This will stop the drain pump from cycling on with the power switch turned on. Once you have ALL of the water removed from the base assembly, install the water inlet valve, check for leaks, and you should be ready to do dishes.

Hello Roy, You should check in the bottom of the base of the dishwasher through the water valve opening for water standing in the base. If the water valve is the issue, it will not be an electrical issue but a mechanical one. The valve will still open, but not far enough to allow a full flow of water. The water in the base assembly of the dishwasher is the key we are looking at. You might even be able to tell with a flashlight and an inspection mirror. The water will puddle in the bottom of the dishwasher base if the water valve is the issue. Replacing the water valve 00425458 should correct the issue. The water in the base will have to be wicked out with a towel to stop the flood switch from tripping the drain pump on.
