Questions & Answers

For Bosch Control Unit (Part Number: OEM8514228)

Jane, This issue sounds like it would be caused by a heating circuit issue. If the water is not getting hot enough then the unit will not dry properly and will take longer to wash. Check to make sure that the incoming water temperature is hot enough. Check to make sure that the thermostats and heater check ok and if they do not then they need to be replaced.

Frank, If the dishwasher is filling with water and then goes to the spray and then to clean in a rapid time then the most likely cause would be a faulty control unit on the unit. The part number for the control unit would be 00489004.

Hello Chris. Check the drain pump and see if it is clogged on the unit. Also, check the drain hose on the unit.

Hello James, 00489004 is the correct control for your unit. There is no difference on this units' serial number. I would test from each connection to ground from the connectors that fasten to the control, (with the power off), to make sure nothing is shorted to ground since this could damage the new control.

Scott, The flood switch is activated and trying to pump water out. You will want to check the base of the unit for water and for a leak.

Jmell for Model Number Bosch Dishwasher SHU43C02UC/14 (FD8304)

The dishwasher was running (I wasn't there at the time) and water came out of the basin onto the floor. My wife opened the door, thinking it would stop the flow. I arrived a few minutes later and there was still some water flow into the dishwasher. I turned off the supply water valve, and cleaned up the swamp. I pulled out the washer several days later, and connected the water and power. I closed the door, pushed the run button, and absolutely nothing. No lights or response from the dishwasher. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello Jmell. You need to replace the valve for the water issue. As for the power issue, check and make sure it didn't trip the breaker when the dishwasher leaked out the water. If there is power tot he unit and to the board and it does not work, replace the board on the unit.
