This is a replacement oven control board manufactured by Bosch. The oven control board is the oven's brain and handles all the functions. It also includes the display and provides users with the ability to control functionality, like bake and broil, setting timers, and more. While the oven control board does not include moving parts, heat and moisture can damage soldered components and lead to failure. Signs that the control board may need to be replaced include lack of information on the display, inability to control specific functions, or complete lack of operability. Note that this part is often misdiagnosed, so make sure to check the old board's operability with a multimeter before replacing it. To replace the oven control board, first remove the exterior cowling. Locate the wiring harness and disconnect it before removing the mounting screws. Install the replacement part following these steps in reverse. This genuine OEM part is sold individually. It only fits Bosch Thermador ovens.

For Bosch Replacement Oven Control Board (Part Number: OEM15789270)

Mike, This unit would have the control board on it and not a separate thermostat. Check the wiring between the sensor and the control board to make sure that it is not damaged. If it checks ok then the control would need replaced.

Louise for Model Number HGS5052UC/1

The actual control panel for the oven works, but it is screwed to a metal plate that is supposed to be stuck to the front glass panel with adhesive tape. The adhesive tape has come unstuck, and I can only operate the control panel if I reach around the back and push the control plate against the glass again. I have tried three different types of tape and an oven-safe silicone to try to re-glue the metal plate to the glass front, none of them will stay stuck. What adhesive can I use to re-stick the metal plate to the glass so that the control panel makes contact with the glass in the backsplash?

Louise, Unfortunately we do not have any type of glue we can recommend for this issue. This would be an issue that you would need to replace the control panel for this issue.

Jill, The 00686205 / 00686205 Panel, will need to be replaced. At present we are not aware of a repair procedure for a glass capacitance key pad/ control panel. In most cases the panel is not "heat sensitive" but we have seen customers need to rub or warm their finger tips to make a selection. On these types of panels, each button or key has an electrical circuit passing through it. When you touch a button, the circuit is "disturbed" and the control recognizes the selection made and programs the chosen circuit. The majority of failures, is usually due to high usage, of one particular selection or program, and or cleaning procedures and household chemicals, use a damp soapy wash cloth to clean the control panel.

Sara, It would be a good idea to where antistatic wrist band or gloves. There is no video on how to replace the part but to replace all you would need to do is pull the unit out from the wall. Would be a good idea if you put something down to protect the floor from damage. Once you have the unit pulled out you will need to disconnect the power and remove the panel over the back of the control board. Remove the screws holding the old board in place and install the new board. Make sure that when you transfer any wires that you do it one at a time and look at what terminal it came off of.
