Dan Little August 04, 2016 for Model Number SHX46B05 UC/14 (FD 8211-) The dishwasher fills then stops. I can get it to try draining by repeatedly starting a new cycle, but it kind of goes in surges. I removed the drain pump and when I rotate the impeller it is kind of a jerky motion, is this normal or should it be a nice smooth rotation? thanks, Dan

There is a float switch that activates the drain (it looks like there are two mechanisms that cause the float switch to activate) - does this float (in the base) mean that the drain cycle should also drain the base of the unit?

Erik September 02, 2015 for Model Number SHU5315 UC/12 After running the dishwasher last night before bed I woke up to it this morning with the LED showing CL and the drain pump still running making a loud humming/vibrating sound. I shut off the machine and restarted it and the drain pump went immediately back to the loud humming/vibrating. Nothing is stuck in the pump but the machine will not fill with water and will not shut off even when cancel/drain is pressed. If I fill the tank with water manually and run it, the dishwasher cycles water and runs thru the rinse/hold cycle until the time runs out and the CL is in the LED but the drain pump keeps running and making the loud vibrating/humming. The drain pump does pump out all the water in the tank at the end of the cycle but does not shut off. Is this problem of the tank not filling and the loud vibrating of the drain pump caused by a failed drain pump or control panel issue?

I have tried various cycles, I have noticed that it drains properly mid cycle then fills with fresh water, but the final drain never happens. I have tried the drain/cancel/power then drain/cancel buttons but no luck. Water remains in the bottom, almost to the top of the center filter. I get a "21" message when the drain/cancel/power is pressed. What parts should I consider?
