The Drain Pump is an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers. This pump is responsible for removing water from the dishwasher after each wash and rinse cycle, ensuring proper drainage and preventing water from pooling inside the dishwasher.

You should replace the drain pump if it becomes clogged, damaged, or fails electrically. Common causes of a bad drain pump include debris buildup, mechanical wear, or failure of internal components due to regular use.

Symptoms of a bad drain pump include:

  • Water not draining from the dishwasher
  • Unusual humming or buzzing noises during the drain cycle
  •  Dishwasher stopping mid-cycle with water remaining inside
  •  Error codes related to drainage issues

This OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Bosch Drain Pump (Part Number: OEM13018797)

Joe, Since the drain pump mounts to the sump assembly itself, it's not likely the drain pump is the issue, based on your description. There is a seal on the drain pump, as well as a seal in the body of the pump, around the motor drive shaft, that may have failed. Removal of the drain pump isn't too difficult. " To access pump, remove power and the lower kickplate cover and sound deadening material. Disconnect inlet hose and pump harness. To remove pump, (1) pull latch (on circular collar), (2) rotate pump clockwise (cw) ~ 1/8 turn and (3) pull out pump. To install new pump, insert @ 2:00 position & rotate counterclockwise (ccw)." AppliancePartsPros.com doesn't have a drain pump replacement video in our library, Sorry.
