Ania, We will need to have the model number of your unit to be able to assist with your question. It does look like this will just be a twist lock and should be a release tab somewhere.

Joe, Since the drain pump mounts to the sump assembly itself, it's not likely the drain pump is the issue, based on your description. There is a seal on the drain pump, as well as a seal in the body of the pump, around the motor drive shaft, that may have failed. Removal of the drain pump isn't too difficult. " To access pump, remove power and the lower kickplate cover and sound deadening material. Disconnect inlet hose and pump harness. To remove pump, (1) pull latch (on circular collar), (2) rotate pump clockwise (cw) ~ 1/8 turn and (3) pull out pump. To install new pump, insert @ 2:00 position & rotate counterclockwise (ccw)." AppliancePartsPros.com doesn't have a drain pump replacement video in our library, Sorry.

Michael, You will want to check to see if the drain pump is getting 120 vac to it and if it is then yes the drain pump would be the issue. If not then the issue would most likely be in the control board.
