The Turbidity Sensor is an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers. It is a component located inside the dishwasher that plays a key role in monitoring water quality during each wash cycle. The turbidity sensor detects small food particles and residue in the water, relaying this information to adjust water temperatures, spray pressures, and cycle times accordingly to achieve optimal cleaning results.

Causes of failure could be normal wear and tear over time, mineral buildup affecting the sensor's ability to read water quality accurately, or damage from electrical faults.

Symptoms of a bad turbidity sensor include:

  • Inconsistent or inadequate cleaning performance
  • Extended cycle times
  • Error codes displayed related to water issues

This genuine OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau and select Kenmore models.

For Bosch Turbidity Sensor (Part Number: OEM13448973)

Jacob for Model Number SHS5AVF2UC/22

The water is not draining out of the unit and the sanitation light blinks. After I cleaned out the bottom filter, I also verified the entire passage for the drain tube was clear by back flushing. While the tube was disconnected, I also verified proper operation of the drain hose check valve. All of this was okay, so I replaced the drain pump, but that was not the issue. My question is could a faulty turbidity sensor cause this? If not, is the only thing left the control board?

1 Answer

Jacob, The turbidity sensor will cause a no-drain issue. You will want to test to see if there is 120 Vac getting to the drain pump when the dishwasher should be draining. If there is not 120 Vac then check the wiring between the pump and the control board and if the wiring is good then replace the control board.

Kirk for Model Number SHP65T55UC/07

I purchased this dishwasher used and I've had to replace a few parts just to get it to power up. I've replace the power switch, control board and power module. Once those parts were replaced, the dishwasher would power up, but I would get an E06 error code. I replaced the door lock assembly and I still get the E06 error code. I see that this error code might also mean the Aqua Sensor isn't functioning. Could this be the case? Is there a way to check the various error codes so I don't have to randomly purchase additional Bosch parts? Thank you for your expertise!

1 Answer

Kirk, On the bosch dishwasher, the e06 error refers to the board not recognizing that the door is closed. I don't see any reference to the aqua sensor on this error.

Roberto, If the turbidity sensor has been replaced then check the wiring between the turbidity sensor and the control board. If they check ok then the issue will be a faulty control board.
