Hello Allen, You will need to install a simmer control kit 00497234 to replace both the spark switches and the simmer control. They all have to be replaced at the same time since the new design parts are not compatible with the old ones and if all are not replaced, there will still be an issue.

Hello Wheezy. Yes, you can replace the spark switches in the unit. As for your issue, if it is sparking, and not lighting, try cleaning the burner and see if that helps the unit.

Tom, You will need to test and or replace the potentiometer 00497246 and the gas tube solenoid 00423022. If either is faulty, there will be no gas allowed to the burner assembly, and it won't ignite, even though the spark igniter works.

Puffy for Model Number Thermador Model # SGSX456ZB (6 burner

I have owned this Thermador cooktop for 8 years. I now have a burner that does not light. It is the left center star unit. The piezo ignitor became intermittent but it would eventually spark and ignite. We cleaned the burner with soap and water and now it quit sparking altogether. I have touched the piezo and I can still feel a small shock (tingle) when I turn the burner on but it isn't strong enough to send a spark. Can you determine if I need a new Switch, spark, Bosch Part Number: AP2821597? Thank you...lighting via BIC lighter
