Nick Trina February 04, 2017 for Model Number PLCS389ECD Fridgidare PLCS389ECD. No heat to broiler. Continuity good in element. Swapped leads on clock controller for broiler and oven and got heat to broiler then nothing to oven. Swapped back and no heat to broiler, but oven heats good, as would be expected. While troubleshooting, I touched the controller against the metal frame and now the blower fan is remaining on constantly. There is a constant 120V to the a black and a red wire to thermostat (I beleive those come from relay block and terminal block). If I disconnect only the black wire from the blower it will shut off, but if I only disconnect the red wire it will stay on. Please recommend best course of action and parts needed. Thanks.
1 Answer Nick, Based on this information this would be a faulty clock/timer that is on the unit and will need replaced. Read More...
Chris August 05, 2016 for Model Number Frigidaire CPCS389EC3 My dual fuel range clock display froze today and also wouldn't respond to button press. I cycled the power and now there is no display at all and won't respond to the buttons. Gas hob and oven lights still function. Is this the control panel? Or is there a service trick to bring it back to life?
1 Answer Chris, With the clock not responding and no display at all then this would be a faulty clock/timer issue 316418731. Read More...
Bobber October 12, 2015 for Model Number PLCS389ECE All functions, when applied, appear normal on the display panel, but neither the oven element nor the broiler element heat up. The display indicates the oven element should be heating, then a very audible "click" and the display indicates the broiler element should be heating. Approx. five seconds later, an audible "click' and the display indicates the oven burner is now heating - it's not. Nothing heats in any mode. I suspect the control module 316418731 is bad. Any other suggestions? Worked fine at dinner last night!
1 Answer Bobber, There are thermal fuses that you will want to check to make sure that they have continuity. They are located on the back of the unit. If there is no continuity then they are bad and would need replaced. If they check ok then the issue would be the control board. Read More...
John March 13, 2013 for Model Number PLCS389ECE Error code is F10 which is not listed. oven gets too hot without cool down fan. Cooling fan on back, top left corner runs low speed constantly, never cuts off. Checked all relays and switches and temp sensors and all appear good. Power getting to control panel but only thing I can't determine is if the control/clock circuit board needs to be replaced. Elements appear ok, temp does reach normal setting level. Do I need new control panel? Cooling fan also never changes speed. I am assuming the high speed in only during oven cleaning process or should the high speed come on to cool oven?
1 Answer John, The F10 erro code indicates a runaway temperature. You will want to check the oven sensor for resistance. The resistance should be 1090 ohms and if not then the oven sensor would need to be replaced. If the oven sensor checks ok then you will need to replace the control. Read More...
