Stacy November 12, 2018 I have a glasstop stove the left front display light for burner doesnt show anything but the left back one displays a number 8 all the time. It just came on two days ago. What does it mean?
1 Answer Stacy, We will need to have the model number of your unit to be able to assist. Please resubmit the question with the model number. Read More...
Steve September 17, 2018 for Model Number FEFL79DCD part AP4510792 or 316558205 There was a lightning strike near my home and the stove control panel is not working. The timer and broil lights are on and the number 8 is shown. The stove top functions normally. Does this code tell me anything or do I just need to replace the oven/timer control board?
1 Answer Hello Steve, A number 8 is not a valid fault code. We would replace the clock assembly on the unit since this is the most likely cause of the condition described. Read More...
Marla B April 27, 2017 for Model Number GLEF379DCG Our control panel fell out of the back of the oven due to the plastic breaking where the panel screws into the stove. Everything on the control panel still works, we're just not able to screw it back into the stove because the 4 plastic pieces are broken. I believe someone pushed the off button too hard causing the plastic pieces to break off. Do I need to replace the entire control panel for this or is there a different part I need?
1 Answer Maria, The in order to get the plastic on the control board you would need to replace the entire control board of the unit. Read More...
Renee February 08, 2017 for Model Number Frigidaire GLEF379DCG For the last month oven has been making super high whining tone Now - Burners - turn on, but won't heat up. Oven won't turn on unless burner is on - but it doesn't heat up Clock won't stay set.
1 Answer Renee, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty clock assembly on the unit which is part number 316557205. Read More...
Omar October 14, 2016 for Model Number FEFB79GBB I ordered a clock/timer control panel (316557205) for my Frigidaire electric range. The picture shown on the website matches my broken panel, but the panel I received looks different. It has different labeling around the L2 out socket. Is this just a labeling difference or is there a difference in the panel?
1 Answer Hello Omar, 316557205 is the correct clock/timer for the model provided so it should connect and operate properly as per the manufacturer. Read More...
Louise June 15, 2016 for Model Number PGLEF385EC6 Our stove displayed the F10 code and alarm sounded while operating on Conv Bake at 400'F. Unplugged from wall and left to cool off (was very very hot ) Appliance guy cam to look and fiddled with the back of the oven and said it "SHOULD BE OK" but if the code reemerged it would need a new control board (said the sensor was fine). Then charged me $270 bucks for "resetting EOC" Oven "noises" no longer work. eg TIMER counts down and no "beep", Oven at reaching temp, no "beep", push any button, no "beep". Assuming it F10's again, i will get no warning beep! Is the stove danergous? should the EOC be repalced anyway? If so, how much is it?
1 Answer Louise, With the symptoms stated, this issue would most likely be caused by a faulty EOC. The part number is 316418760. Read More...
Jeff February 11, 2016 for Model Number GLEF379DCG I accidently touched metal onto the top yellow wire on the back of the control board. I replaced the control board but it does not turn on unless I turn one of the stove top knobs on. It makes a beep then the clock is at 12:00. The stove top does not heat up nor does the oven. Once I turn the stove top knob to the off position the control board clock and lights turn off. Is there a fuse that could have blown or a sensor when I touched the metal to the original board?..I have to add that when we pressed the oven button on the original control board the was a small spark that occurred on the top wire where the metal had touched. Any help would be appreciated
1 Answer Hello Jeff. Check and make sure you have 240 VAC to the unit. If so, then you will need to trace and see where your losing power to the elements and check and see where you have a short at on the unit. Something is shorted and preventing the power from going to the correct parts. You could have shorted out the board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
G January 03, 2016 for Model Number GLEF379DCG Frigidaire Model# GLEF379DCG. Pushing the bake button turns on the broiler instead of the oven. Code F 10 indicates runaway temperature. Unit is 10 years old. Looks like there are some dead bugs inside the digital number display partially blocking the numbers. Is the EOC faulty and if so what is the replacement part number for this model? I have not tested the temp probe because the troubleshooting guide indicated a faulty EOC with any button control failure.
1 Answer Hello G. Based on the information you provided, you will need to order 316557205 for the unit. Read More...
Iiyogi August 31, 2015 My Frigidaire model # PLES389ECH oven will not bake or broil F30 EER comes on. Is there a video on my model # showing me how to fix it?
1 Answer Hello IIyogi. F30 fault code in EOC display. Open oven temperature sensor circuit. Note: The temperature sensor circuit consists of the sensor (probe), front safety thermostat, rear safety thermostat and connecting wires. On the above listed models this error code can be caused by one or more of the following conditions. 1. The oven temperature sensor (probe) is open. 2. Front oven safety thermostat is open. 3. Rear oven safety thermostat is open. 4. Failed connection or broken wire in the sensor circuit. Step 1: Test the resistance of the entire sensor circuit by disconnecting power to the range and accessing the multi-pin harness connector plug on the rear of the EOC. With the plug disconnected from the EOC, measure the resistance between the two violet wires found in the harness. At room temperature the resistance should be approximately 1100 ohms. If the resistance is correct then the fault is internal in the EOC and it must be replaced. Step 2: If the sensor circuit resistance is higher than 1200 ohms at room temperature, then test the two safety thermostats in the oven sensor circuit. If either safety thermostat is found to be open, it should be replaced with the proper service replacement part. The safety thermostats may have a reset button that can be used to temporarily restore the range to full function, however; the thermostat must be replaced for continued proper operation. Note: The thermostat located in front must be replaced with p/n 318005213. Note: If the rear safety thermostat is open there could be a failure of the cooling fan high speed control thermostat p/n 318003614, or the cooling fan itself. This thermostat switches the cooling fan from low speed to high speed when it reaches a temperature of 170°F. Verify that the thermostat is operating properly by using a heat gun to raise the temperature above 170°F. Select a bake cycle on the EOC and check to see that the cooling fan is running on high speed. Replace the high speed fan thermostat or fan motor if defective. Step 3: Test the temperature sensor (probe) by disconnecting it from the harness and measuring the resistance with an ohm meter. If the resistance is higher than 1200 ohms or less than 1000 ohms replace the sensor. If the quick connect harness plug on the temperature sensor probe is found to be defective the plug can be cut out and the connection can be hard wired. Step 4: Verify continuity of the wire harness and connections from the temperature sensor and safety thermostats. Read More...
Tom B July 11, 2015 for Model Number fefl79dsg Was operating oven with convection, heard a pop, the breaker tripped, reset the circuit breaker. Neither bake or broil works. The clock does work, timer works, oven light works, door locks on Clean but elements don't heat up. The stove top burners Work.
1 Answer Tom, The most likely cause for the unit not baking or broiling and both going out at the same time would be that the control board has failed. Even with the clock working, the board has relays on it that if they are not working then the oven will not work. The part number that you will need is 316557205. Read More...
