Chrystal August 11, 2014 for Model Number Fridgidaire smooth top electric range/oven Yesterday, while cooking with two burners on and the oven on, I heard a pop noise and discovered the unit off and the breaker tripped. I turned the breaker back on, turned the oven off, finished cooking with two burners, then turned the oven on and finished dinner with just the oven. Later that evening, I heard the same pop noise and went into the kitchen to discover the unit off again and the breaker tripped. I wasn't using the unit when it tripped the second time. I flipped the breaker off and unplugged the unit. What's the problem?
1 Answer Hello Chrystal. it sounds like the breaker may be bad. Try replacing it first and if the problem continues, look for a hot wire shorted to ground. Read More...
Joel March 21, 2014 for Model Number GLEF388GSA The bake and broil heating elements do not turn on in bake mode, but the broil one works in broil mode. I tested the element with a multimeter and it has proper resistance. Everything else on the stove works fine.
1 Answer Hello Joel. Test for power from the control board to the elements. If there is none, replace the board 316557205 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Clayton January 09, 2014 for Model Number frifidaire fefl79fcb Have no display on, Stove burners work but no oven or clock functions, I have read it is touch panel but need to know for sure before replacing it.
1 Answer Hello Clayton. No, you need to replace the clock 316557205, not the touch pad on the unit. Read More...
Jared September 28, 2013 for Model Number FEFLM605DCG The plastic bracket that holds the clock timer is broken. (I guess my wife is really aggressive at setting the oven temperature) There is nothing wrong with the clock timer, just the bracket it is held with. Is there anyone who sells just the plastic bracket?
1 Answer Hello Jared, There are two choices here. One: Replace the clock 316557205. Two: Make some large plastic washers for the screws to go through. They will have to be thick enough to not be flexible and they have to be plastic so they will not conduct if they contact a hot wire. There is no other way that will work without using an adhesive which is highly undesireable. Read More...
Brad B February 02, 2013 for Model Number GLEF384HBB Turned oven on , to bake , after a few moments it went to broil and then displayed an F10 code along with a beeping alarm. From other postings can't figure if it's the oven probe , clock timer or both. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Brad, The F10 error code indicates a runaway temp. You will want to test the oven sensor 316490000 which should read at 1090 ohms at room temp. If sensor checks ok then you would replace the Clock 316557205. Read More...
Johnny January 10, 2013 for Model Number GLEF384HBA Bake element went out in oven / it blew in to got new one and installed but oven does not work. I think when it blew it took out the clock and control. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Johnny. Test for power coming from the clock during bake. If it is not there, replace the clock in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Doug March 28, 2012 for Model Number Frigidaire FEFLM605DCD My Oven was over heating. Checked temp probe and metered out to be fine. Replaced the board and oven now works perfect. However when i now use the warming drawer the element kicks on and when it does it also emits a low tone. Only for the mini oven drawer. The full size oven works fine. Put the old board in and the oven overheats but the mini drawer oven works fine. Seems to me like the new timer board might have a problem.
1 Answer Doug, Based on your post, I have to agree with you, the issue woukld be in the new part. You should contact the APP Customer Service Team 1-(877)-477-7278 and make arrangements for another control to be sent to you. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Lewis March 25, 2012 for Model Number FEFL79DQK A top element was on simmer and went to high while I was cooking. The light on the warmer element glowed when another element was on. Both are intermittent. What do you think I need?
1 Answer Hello Lewis, Sounds like an infinite switch is starting to fail. If not, there could be an issue with the wiring harness. I would first remove the back and raise the top and check all of the places where the harness is tied together. There was an issue where the assembly line individual putting on the wire ties got too strong and was crimping wires together by tightening the wire ties too tight. Still a higher probability of an infinite switch going into failure but this is impossible to correct until the problem is every time. That is unless you replace all of the infinite switches.
