For Frigidaire Clock Timer (Part Number: OEM10687458)

Alan for Model Number FES367AQG

Overnight both the bake and broiler element quit working in my FES367AQG oven, while all the surface elements and the clock/timer are working flawlessly. I checked the terminal block and the wiring to both the bake and broiler elements and there is no sign of burning anywhere. The clock/timer (Part #318185448) can be set to bake and broil, just as when it worked, and the preheat and oven lights come on, but the oven will not heat. Should I replace part #318185448, or could there be another part that is preventing the oven from turning on, that may have failed?

Hello Jim, Most of the time this is correct, but there is always the possibility that there is another safety device in the circuit such as a thermal cutout. In this case the part number is 318005201. I believe it is located on the unit back near the temperature sensor. This is behind the main back panel. If this isn't the issue, the next most likely problem is the control 318185446.

Hello Jeff. If the unit is getting 240 volts, and you can reset it and it work, then the control 318185448 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. If it is not working properly, first check the voltage coming to the unit. If it is below 240 volts, and flipping the breaker on and off makes it work properly, then the issue is the breaker is bad and you will need to replace the breaker. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
