Rob C. July 15, 2011 for Model Number ffu20fc4aw2 Bad compressor has 5 ports and new compressor showing only has 3. What is the protocal for this repair?
1 Answer Hi Rob. Your original compressor used the 2 side by side lower ports that went into a drain pan. The 1/4" copper lines that went from the compressor , and looped / coiled into a black drain pan, then back to the compressor. They no longer use these lines. They were meant for the compressor oil to be "cooled" by the drain pan water. You should discard these altogether. Then the single port on the left is used for the Service Port. Then the 2 on the right... The higher port is fro the suction line, the lower port is for the discharge line. The compressor part # is 5304478809. Thank you. Read More...
1 Answer Hello. You check across the terminals on the compressor. The start winding will read from 3.8-13 ohms and the run will read 3.6-4.5 ohms. Hope this helps. Read More...
