This compressor kit is made to be used with freezers and refrigerators by several manufacturers. It includes the compressor as well as all small parts associated with it. The compressor is a component that helps move the refrigerant throughout the appliance's system. Temperature sensors indicate when the compressor should run. If the compressor is damaged, it may make strange noises, no longer cool properly, or could begin to overheat. If any of these issues are present, the compressor should be replaced. First, make sure the refrigerator is not connected to a power source. Remove perishable items from the appliance and place them in an icebox, cooler with ice, or another refrigerator. Locate the compressor on the back of the appliance by removing the metal guard. Remove the wire between the compressor and the capacitor before taking off the compressor. Replace this part with the new one by connecting it to the wire and reassembling the appliance. This is a compressor kit for use with refrigerators and freezers made by Crosley, Electrolux, Westinghouse, Frigidaire, Kelvinator, Tappan, and Gibson. It is sourced directly from the manufacturer and sold as a single part. This is a genuine OEM replacement part.

For Frigidaire Compressor Kit (Part Number: OEM13694217)

Mike for Model Number LFFH2067DW2

I believe the compressor for my Frigidaire Up-right freezer has gone out. At first the freezer stopped freezing. And now - when plugged in; nothing is working. Wondering if it better to 1) replace the compressor or 2) buy another entire freezer. The freezer was purchased in 2005 and it is now 2015 - at least 10 years old. Very good shape - exterior and interior. Compressor replacement kit will run $250.00. New freezer unit - $600 to $800. Can a YouTube video walk a amateur such as myself in fixing this unit?

Mike, You will want to do some testing to see if the compressor is actually the issue. On the back of the unit on the left side frame of the opening there is a defrost timer. You will want to turn the dial until it clicks to see if the unit comes back on. This may just be a start relay problem with the unit not cooling and may be a defrost timer issue for it not coming out of defrost.

Hello Chad. The compressor is suppose to get hot as the sealed system removes heat. Make sure the coils on the back of the unit can get fresh air and it is not stuck inside a hole in the wall. This will help reduce the heat from the compressor.

Jon, The 2 lines that go to the oil cooler can be left disconnected. One of them will go to the discharge and the other will need to be crimped off.

Hello Tom, Sounds like you have a stopped up line. If you used solder flux, you may have used too much. If not, you may have heated a line for too long. A vacuum can still be drawn and depending where the stopped up line is, the freon can still be installed. If a line is stopped up, the freon that's in the system cannot circulate so there will be no cooling effect.
