This temperature control thermostat regulates cabinet temperature by cycling the cooling system on and off. It helps your appliance hold the setting you select so food stays cold without unnecessary overcooling.

  • Senses internal temperature and opens/closes electrical contacts to start or stop the compressor
  • Maintains the setpoint chosen with the control knob
  • Symptoms of a failing control include: too warm or too cold temperatures
  • Runs constantly or won't run unless tapped/adjusted
  • Temperature knob has little or no effect on cooling
What's included: 1 temperature control thermostat Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing
  • Note wire locations and take photos before removal
  • Route the sensing capillary/bulb exactly as original; do not kink or sharply bend it
  • Secure the sensing bulb in its clips and ensure good contact; set to mid-range and allow up to 24 hours for temperatures to stabilize

frigidaire single valve 242252603 frigidaire ice maker kit AP5950053 Ken, unfortunately, we do not have a video for replacing the cold control of this model at this time. However, to replace the cold control, the end of the capillary tube should be set into a removable cover inside of the freezer. The cover would need to be removed to allow the capillary tube to be positioned for both removal and installation.

Paul for Model Number LC05

Hello, If an exact freezer thermostat can't be found, can I use a similar part? Can you recommend a suitable thermostat based on the following: I have a small (~4 to 5 cubic feet) chest freezer - Holiday Model LC05. I need a new thermostat and can't find the exact type (to purchase) - except for a site where the minimum order is 1000. The thermostat is a Ranco, some of the numbers on the thermostat have corrosion but from looking at specs and pictures on the web, I am pretty sure it is a Ranco K14-K50 The capillary tube is about 3ft long (it goes down the back of the outside of the freezer then up through a hole into the freezer). Sincerely and Thank you, Paul
