Frigidaire Refrigerator Temperature Control, Cold Control

This was a 2000 model so rather than just replace the defrost timer which was visibly burnt on the terminals, we just did everything. The cold control, defrost timer, thermostat, defrost heater and the compressor capacitor were all replaced. This issue was with a refrigerator that we acquired with a house we bought. The freezer was cold, making ice well, overall doing great. The refrigerator was not cold however. • Fridge too warm

I determined that this was the part to get based on a previous reviewer's post who had a similar problem. I bought the controller, it shipped quickly and I received it two business days later. I followed the instructions of the previous poster and had the device installed in about an hour. The most difficult part or should I say tedious part was unscrewing and then replacing the panel and screwing everything back in. I had an on-linew chat with an appliance part pro and told him my problem..he suggested it may be the temperature control..i ordered the part right then and there..it arrived in 2 days! i changed the part..and it works fine..but thats half the story! The freezer would cool down to 0 degrees after being plugged in but once it hit zero the freezer failed to keep it there, it would warm back to room temp. Replaced the cold control. I have no experience working on appliances but went well. It took about 2 hours of work but I went slow and took pictures in case I needed to reference later. Saved $200 in labor by doing it myself. Read more
