Cecil January 15, 2016 for Model Number 253.28092802 I have a freezer that runs but doesn't get cold. The display shows high temp. If I use the control panel and shut off the unit then turn the unit back on. It will not turn back on. If I unplug the freezer from the wall and then plug it back on it will start to run again but not getting cold.
1 Answer Cecil, With the unit not cooling, if the compressor is running but the unit is not cooling then you will want to check the evaporator coils to make sure that there is a good even frost pattern. If the coils have very little frost on them then there is a sealed system issue and would want to have a tech for this issue. If the coils are impacted with ice then test the defrost thermostat and defrost heater to make sure that they have continuity. Read More...
Keith November 18, 2015 for Model Number 253.28092801 My upright freezer has intermittent power issues. There is no clicking sound, the unit starts and stops as if it is a power / short issue. For the past couple months the interior light on the unit would dim and then brighten every time the door was opened, but it is now losing power (the panel goes on and off and beeps) with the door closed. I have checked the outlet and breakers (good) and think it must be the controller (part 216954218), capacitor (part 216985001) or control panel (part 297242003). Is there a test for any/all of these parts to determine which one is faulty? Based on my description which would be most likely bad?
1 Answer Hello Keith. If the unit stops and you can rest it and it runs again, you will need to order and replace the control board 297366203 on the unit. The only test is to reset it and see if it resets the board on the unit. Read More...

Jeff Cox May 03, 2015 for Model Number LFFH21F7HWJ hello, i have a fridgidaire upright freezer, the door keeps coming open and i do not hear or feel the suction sound when you close the door, and the it just pops right back open after a couple seconds, freezer is 3 years old and this just started happening, please advise, thanks!
1 Answer Jeff, You will want to check to make sure that there is no ice building up on the floor of the unit which could cause this issue. If there is not ice built up then the issue will be with the door gasket which is part number 5304507199. Read More...
Frank K. February 19, 2015 for Model Number lffh21e7hwa Sometimes when I open door of freezer light does not come on. Control panel states door ajar loss of power. Even after I close door. I can unplug freezer and plug back in same outlet or different one and it will come back on sometimes. As long as I do not open door seems to work ok what could be wrong.
1 Answer Frank, With the issue that you are having, You will want to check the wiring harness at the bottom of the door to make sure that there is no damage to the wires. If this checks ok then the issue will be with the control panel part number 297235200. Read More...
