Michele October 29, 2020 for Model Number FEB30S5DCD i heard a pop noise and noticed that i had blown a breaker ,,, i reset the breaker ,,, but that did not work,, now both heating elements wil not work should one of the heating elements still work if it is a heating element? if so what else could it be>
1 Answer Hello Michele, both the bake/broil elements are powered thru the control board,316418522, if one of the elements had shorted then it is likely the element relays in the control board were damaged. If that is the case then before replacing the control board the problem that caused the pop noise (short) would need to be found and corrected. This would involve the wall oven being uninstalled, the outer rear case removed and the elements/circuit checked with a multimeter. You may want to contact an appliance servicer at this point. 2 Answers Clarence, Open the oven door and move the lock on the hinge into position then lift up and out. Read More...
2 Answers Clarence, the door will need to be opened to a 45° angle, allowing for the door to be pulled out of the hinge bracket. The hinge will need to maintain a 45° angle to re-install the door onto the oven. Read More...
Gigs August 29, 2019 for Model Number FES365ECE Neither element are coming on when I set the oven to bake. The top element does come on when I set it to broil. Is that normal when only the bottom element needs replaced? Upon removing the bottom element, I noticed that one of the prongs appear charred. I'm honestly not sure that the connector for the prong is still attached to the wire. I'm on a very limited budget and trying to fix this myself. I don't want to buy an element if it's potentially more than just the element. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
1 Answer Gigs, You will need to remove the back cover so you can see the wire terminals. If it is a wiring issue the wire can be cut back, stripped and a new connector installed. You can also test the element for resistance, [17 ohms] or the control at the BA terminal which is your bake power out to pin 5 on the big wire connector [white wire] Read More...
