Gigs for Model Number FES365ECE Neither element are coming on when I set the oven to bake. The top element does come on when I set it to broil. Is that normal when only the bottom element needs replaced? Upon removing the bottom element, I noticed that one of the prongs appear charred. I'm honestly not sure that the connector for the prong is still attached to the wire. I'm on a very limited budget and trying to fix this myself. I don't want to buy an element if it's potentially more than just the element. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Answer Gigs, You will need to remove the back cover so you can see the wire terminals. If it is a wiring issue the wire can be cut back, stripped and a new connector installed. You can also test the element for resistance, [17 ohms] or the control at the BA terminal which is your bake power out to pin 5 on the big wire connector [white wire] Read More...
