Yjwang April 17, 2016 for Model Number FES388WGCG For some reason my oven door came off with the clip not being attached to the hook of the hinge upper arm. Now I am disassemble the door and got the hinge out. I am trying to push the upper arm down so that I could connect the clip on the lower arm to the hook on the upper arm, but find extremely hard to push the upper arm down. Is there something wrong with the spring or I just need to force it down? Thanks, Jeff
1 Answer Yjwang, You will want to force the door hinge down in order to get it hooked to the lower arm. Use a towel that is doubled over to help your hand. Read More...
Paul January 20, 2015 for Model Number FCS388WHCD I need to replace my hinges on the oven door. I have taken the door off (one hinge was broken), but a couple of the screws will not budge. Any suggestions? I don't want to strip the head of the screw.
1 Answer Hello Paul. You can try heating the screws and see if that helps in backing them out. Read More...
Dave August 26, 2014 I replaced the hinges on my fridgidaire (the hinge model is the 318024741). Easy to replace but I'm having trouble getting the door back onto the stove. There are two little clips that I had to flip back to get the door off when it was at approx. 45 degrees. I can't seem to flip those clips back as they are locked pretty tight on the hinge. And this is preventing me from getting the door back on. What am I doing wrong? Is there a technique that will allow these clips to loosen and close?
1 Answer Dave, When you slide the hinges into the receivers on the range, you slide them all the way in and when you open the door all the way you will be able to release the clips from the hooks. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Mike. To change the hinge 318024741 in an oven door, you will need to determine how to remove the door on the model number you are working on. If you open the door to the first stopping point, some oven doors will lift off the unit in this position. On other models, you will see clips on the back of the hinge toward the opening where the hinge enters the range. If yours is like this, you will open the door all the way open, then pull the clips down until they stop and lock in place. Then close the door to the stopping point and lift the door off the range. If you door does not lift off, and it does not have the clips, then you will open the door all the way open. You will see a hole in the hinge at the bottom of the door. You will insert a pin or nail into that hole and close the door to the stopping point. Then you can lift the door off the unit. Once the door is removed, you will lay it on a soft surface and disassemble the door. Pay attention and make notes if needed for reassembly of the oven door. Once you have replaced the door hinge, you will reinstall the oven door back onto the range in reverse order of the way you removed it. Hope this helps. Read More...
