Ladyred January 31, 2018 for Model Number FRS6HR4HW6 We have used 2 brand new filters in our fridge to replace the old one. It was snugged in really good, but when we dispensed water, the filter popped right out. Also, water would not come out of the dispenser itself. We have tried to see if a water line was frozen. We checked under the freezer door for the water line. When we did that, we pressed the water dispenser and the water wasn't coming through the tube. That is very odd for us because we have never had this problem. A leakage, yes, but not this. We received another filter today and it's a PureSource Plus WFCB. It still didn't work. I don't know what else to try. We have tried EVERYTHING.

1 Answer William, Probably not, as long as you're pushing in on the filter, it should release the latch and spring back out. " 1 Turn Off the ice maker power switch. 2 Remove the filter by pushing on the end/face of the filter. 3 Slide the old water filter cartridge straight out of the housing and discard it. 4 Unpackage the new filter cartridge. Using the alignment guide, slide it gently into the filter housing until it stops against the snap-in connector at the back of the housing. 5 Push firmly until the cartridge snaps into place (you should hear a click as the cartridge engages the snap-in connector)." You'll probably need a new filter base, if you can't get the filter removed using the recommended method.
