Larry G Tacoma , WA October 18, 2014 Frigidaire puresource2 water filter kept popping out Turned off water behind the fridge. Unscrewed housing that covered water lines behind the filter base with a 1/4" socket. Pulled out the water hoses by pulling forward on the blue ring holding the hose while pulling the hose backward. Unscrewed the two screws below the filter base. Used the 1/4" socket to remove four additional 1/4" nuts holding the front housing until it partially dropped. I kept the housing propped on a jar. Unscrewed two additional screws holding the filter release rod in place with a short screwdriver. Twisted the rod counter clockwise so it could be disconnected from the filter base. Removed the old filter base. Put in the new filter base and put everything back together and turned the water back on. Ron F Gainesville , FL October 27, 2014 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator FRS6L9EFSS2 No water at the dispenser After submitting a question on the AppliancePartsPros.com site, I received a response indicating the most likely problem, a faulty water filter base. The part arrived in two days. The instructions I received in the original email were adequate. The only issue was the need to separate the two halves of the control housing shroud. It wasn't mentioned and it was a bit difficult to figure out why it wasn't dropping down after all the screws were removed. Other than that, I was finished in about 45 minutes and the water works great. Thanks.
