Kirt March 20, 2015 for Model Number FRS26DR7DS2 Hi, I have never replaced the water filter before. When we use the dispenser it glows red so I'm guessing it is time for it to be replaced. Well when I depress the eject button like the youtube video shows, me filter will not eject. Based on the video its not supposed to take no more than a minute to eject and replace the old to new. Also the video said turn off the water line going to the fridge but I do not have a lockoff going to the fridge could this be the reason why the filter will not eject.
1 Answer Kirt, If the filter has been a while since being replaced then when you push on the button you will also want to pull on the filter at the same time. This should allow it to release as the seals on the filter are probably dry and stuck to the ports. You should not have to shut the water off to replace the filter although it is recommended. Martine March 04, 2015 for Model Number JCD2389GES I can't see more than the JCD23 on my fridge, but my question is replacing the water filter. How can I take the old one out?
Meg February 03, 2015 for Model Number Fphf2399pf4 I just replaced my water filter which is the puresource ultra and it still says replace every time I dispense water. It's working fine I just in my opinion just wondering if I can do something so it says good instead of replace.
1 Answer Meg, here is the information from the owners manual. Thanks! Press and hold the Water Filter button on the Ice & Water Dispenser control panel for three seconds. When the display changes from Red to Green, the status has been reset. Read More...
Roger F January 20, 2015 for Model Number Kenmore 253.5568240B I just replaced our the water filter like we always do every six months with the PureSource2 water filter. I ran the water to condition the filter. At first it did the usual -- fast strong stream, then sputtered, then stopped running. Usually after a few seconds the water starts again, but after about FIVE minutes a miniscule stream came out. I thought perhaps it was a defective filter, but replacing the old filter resulted in the same issue...no water at first, and then the usual tiny stream. Something's wrong but not sure what.
1 Answer Roger, With the issue that you are having with the slow stream of water, it sounds like the filter base may be bad and in need of replacement. This is the most common reason for this issue. The filter base part number is 240396002. Read More...
Pat January 15, 2015 for Model Number PLHS269ZCB3 My original filter cracked so there for when I tried to use my water dispenser water would spray out from the filter in the refrigerator section, I ordered a new one which is a replacement from the old style and looks a bit different from the original. Now I get nothing no water from the dispenser no water to my ice maker and by what I can tell no water is going into the new filter ? It seems that the new filter is not pushing in the plunger or mechanism that opens the water flow ? Is this a common problem ? What do I do to correct this issue ?
1 Answer Pat, For this issue it would be necessary to replace the filter base on the unit. The part number for the filter base is 240396002. Read More...
Tamara January 09, 2015 Hi again. One more question. How do I unlock the ice maker on frigidaire side by side? The light just blinks amber, green, red, will not stay on any color.
Tamara January 09, 2015 for Model Number GLRS267ZAW1 Mu ice maker just stopped working. Can this have anything to do with water filter needing to be replaced. Also I just noticed there's a lock out for ice and water on this fridge, my water is working, no longer cold. I can't reset the button, any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Tamara. If the dispenser works, the filter is not the issue. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Donald December 10, 2014 for Model Number FFHS2611LWB Why water filter (wf3cb) flow so slow? Purchase 3 differ filter all same result. Slow water flow.
1 Answer Hello Donald. Make sure the water pressure to the unit is good. If so, then check the water valve in the unit. If the water valve is good, the last thing would be the filter head in the unit. Read More...
