George April 01, 2012 for Model Number plef489cca Hi. This is George again!!(see second question in this section). I replaced the switch as well as the dual left front burner which was burned out. I still have no heat on the left front or bridge. I have a good diagram and studied it carefully. After checking the orange wire at the burner element I find it to be getting 120V even with the knob in the off position. I checked at the switch and the same is true as the voltage is reading 120V from the L2 (red wire Top of switch) going to the orange also the yellow wire(4 and 4A). It is a new switch and I assume it to be defective. All the elements are good in that they have readings similar to the elements that work on the original assembly. I feel I am wired correctly....Keep in mind the element ceramic 4 pole connector is turned backwards from the factory elements I removed. What is in those ceramic elements? Could there be a problem in there ? Or is the switch defective? Thanks again. George

Bill March 30, 2012 I need help wiring an element for my frigidare range. My original part is 318177910 wich subs over to part 318258201. The problem the wiring on the new part is not she same as the old one. Can you send me a wiring diagram?
1 Answer HI Bill. Like just mentioned earlier today even about the inability to read the wiring diagram we have. Use the wiring diagram inside the unit control panel back or folded in the storage drawer after removal. Look closely with a magnifying glass at the new burner terminals as they have reconfigured the terminal placements. Bridged element part # 318258201. Thank You. Read More...
Pam January 02, 2012 for Model Number GLEC3OS8ABB Do you know what part might be needed when burner will not get hot?
1 Answer Hello Pam. Test for power coming to the element 318258201. If there is power there, the element is bad. If there is no power there, the switch is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
