Hello Foos, You will need to remove the bodyside to access the light switch on this model. To do this, the burners will have to be removed to access screws along the top edge of the bodyside and the unit will have to be pulled out to access the screws on the rear along the edge that hold the bodyside. Once removed, the insulation shield will have to be loosened at the front to access the switch. You should take plenty of pictures during disassembly and keep the screws in order so they will be installed where they belong.

Mark, You will want to check the voltage getting to the element. There should be 240 vac going to the element when in the on position. If there is only 120 vac then the control board is faulty and would need to be replaced.

Rita K. for Model Number Frigidaire Range Model #RD-39-64

This range was purchased in the early 1960's and the oven light switch will no longer work. This switch looks like the one that is would replace our switch, but need to know if it will withstand the heat from the oven. My switch is located on the upper right side of the oven frame. We had ordered a switch before that looked like it would work, but it melted from the heat of the oven. Please help me to replace my switch as I really miss not having an oven light. Thanks in advance for your help.

Terry, You will want to check the toggle switch on the control panel to make sure that it is in the off position. If it is in the off position then you will want to check this switch in the off position for continuity. If there is then the issue will be with the toggle switch. If not then it will be with the door switch.
