M.T. Ii July 08, 2014 for Model Number DJXR433EG3WW I just moved into a condo and on my first use of the dryer, the start knob just came off and it seems like the chord that (attached to the backside of the start knob) fell inside the dryer. How do I fix this or is this a costly repair? This is a General Electric (GE) and the model # is DJXR433EG3WW. Please let me know what I need to do or what it might cost me to get this start button repaired and working.?
1 Answer M.T. II, If the start device itself came loose then you would want to remove the screws across the back top of the dryer to access the control panel. You should be able to reattach the switch to the panel. If unable to do so you would need to get a new start switch part number WE4M519. Read More...
John June 19, 2014 for Model Number DJXR433EG1WW The tabs that hold the switches in place on the backsplash assembly have broken. Very poor design. I tried superglue but they just broke off again. Is there any other fix other than buying a new backsplash? If the design hasn't changed, the same thing could happen again.
1 Answer Hello John! Unfortunately, there isn't a fix other than replacing the backsplash. Sorry about that! Read More...
Dana October 16, 2013 for Model Number GE WE19M1493 Hello, The Start switch came off on my GE dryer (Model: DJXR433EG6WW). I found the a little thin white plastic piece broke off at the back of the white panel holding the Start switch. Is there anyway to repair the panel instead of ordering an entire panel? I rarely use this new GE dryer but it's beyond the one-year warranty. Can't believe why GE uses such a flimsy thin plastic to hold the switch in place that breaks off so easily. Thanks in advance for your help. Dana
1 Answer Hello Dana, If you can't repair the panel with super glue or by inserting a screw in a position the switch can't move, the only other option is replacing the panel. If the model number of the unit were posted, I might have been able to assist further. Read More...
Lauri October 06, 2011 for Model Number DJXR433GGWW I am looking at the part referred to as the back assembly, however the part that is broken is the cube like piece with a red and a brown electricial attachment. A little piece broke off so when you turned the knob you had to do it very very gently. Well about 2 weeks ago the knob came off and as I was trying to push to piece that the knob connects to through the hole,(which when I pushed it thru I told my mom to hold it) I don't know if she pulled to hard or what cause there were all these sparks and a small fire that went out immediately, thankfully I wasn't shocked. So that resulted in the brown connection completly breakin off the cube. Also there is another cube right next to that which controlls the tempatures(that one is intact), then all of the wires including the burnt out one are like taped together and go down a hole into the dryer. It's pretty new and rarely used can't a repair person just repace that wire or cube I have all the other parts that are 100% intact except a little burn mark on the plastic in the back. Please help????
1 Answer Hello Lauri. If you are referring to the start switch WE4M519, you can order and replace just the switch. All of the switches in the control panel can be ordered and replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
