The Bake Element is an OEM part for GE ovens. It is responsible for providing the necessary heat for baking by radiating heat from the bottom of the oven. It measures 18 1/4"" side to side, 15-1/2" from the mounting bracket to the back, and 3" from the terminal to the back plate, with 1/4"male spade terminals.

You should replace the bake element if it becomes damaged or fails to heat properly. Causes of a bad bake element can include regular wear and tear, electrical malfunctions, or physical damage such as cracking or breaking.

Symptoms of a bad bake element include:

  • The oven not heating evenly or at all
  • Visible damage or blistering on the element
  • Sparking or electrical shorts when the oven is in use
  • Longer baking times or undercooked food

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Allen, The manufacturer does not show the screws for this and you could just use a stainless steel #8 pan head screw.

Jeff W, Based on the description of your issue this is usually caused by a loose connection, when replacing the element and wire terminal connectors make sure all connections are tight.

Jeff Weitzel for Model Number JBP30BA4

Hello, My oven recently stopped heating. The element does not heat at all. The broiler element works fine. Just over a year ago we had the same problem and fixed it with a new element we purchased from you. I cannot find any break or crack in the element this time like was visible the previous time. I would think that an element should last longer than a year - The one that came with the stove lasted over 20 years. Is there something else that could be causing this? I also replaced the main circuit board a couple of years ago. Thank you for any help!

Jeff W, Based on the information provided the issue could be the element, a control board, or a wiring issue. I would recommend checking with a multimeter for power to the element (240vac) If there is no power to the element then check for power from the board and make sure no wires are loose or broken.
