Jeff Weitzel February 04, 2021 for Model Number JBP30BA4 I tested the lower oven element that had stopped working, but it had continuity (did not remove it first), so I opened up the back. I found the connection to the element had melted. Both the crimps and element connectors were fried. I know I could just buy another new element and put new crimps on the wires, but I wonder what is causing it to get so hot? Will it just keep melting again? This element is only one year old. Any ideas?
1 Answer Jeff W, Based on the description of your issue this is usually caused by a loose connection, when replacing the element and wire terminal connectors make sure all connections are tight. Read More...
Jeff Weitzel February 03, 2021 for Model Number JBP30BA4 Hello, My oven recently stopped heating. The element does not heat at all. The broiler element works fine. Just over a year ago we had the same problem and fixed it with a new element we purchased from you. I cannot find any break or crack in the element this time like was visible the previous time. I would think that an element should last longer than a year - The one that came with the stove lasted over 20 years. Is there something else that could be causing this? I also replaced the main circuit board a couple of years ago. Thank you for any help!
1 Answer Jeff W, Based on the information provided the issue could be the element, a control board, or a wiring issue. I would recommend checking with a multimeter for power to the element (240vac) If there is no power to the element then check for power from the board and make sure no wires are loose or broken.
