The Oven Broil Element is an OEM replacement part for GE ovens. It is located in the upper portion of the oven cavity and is responsible for generating intense heat for broiling foods. This element provides even heat distribution, ensuring proper cooking and browning of food during the broil cycle.

Over time, broil elements can wear out or fail due to frequent use, high temperatures, or electrical issues. A damaged element will affect the oven's ability to broil properly.

Symptoms of a bad broil element include:

  • The broil function not working or producing insufficient heat
  • Uneven browning or cooking of food during broiling
  • Visible damage, such as breaks or blisters on the element
  • Sparking or tripping of the circuit breaker when the broil setting is used

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Left handed husband, Unfortunately there are no videos or instructions on removing the door. In order to remove it you should open to the first stopping point, then grab the door on both sides and lift off the hinges. There may be a screw that holds them on either side where the hinge is so make sure that if there is the screw is removed.

Hope, the broil element (upper oven element) is part number WB44X134 and the bake element (bottom oven element) is part number WB44X5099. The parts are easy to replace. You'll need to remove the racks within the oven. Remove the screws holding the brackets to the oven cavity. Pull the oven element out far enough that the wiring does not fall into the oven back. Remove the wiring and install in reverse order. Hope this helps you. Thanks.
