Gary C. June 13, 2017 for Model Number RGB745WEH7WW I need to convert from LP back to Nat Gas on my Hotpoint range. Is there a complete kit for that?
1 Answer Hello Gary, You will need to order one of each of the following since there is no kit for converting back to natural gas from LP: WB28K10187, WB28K10188, WB28K10189, and WB28K10190. The oven compartment is adjustable by turning the orifice hoods 1 1/2 to 2 turns counterclockwise. You will also need to convert the regulator by removing flipping the large nut. Read More...
Lance May 24, 2017 for Model Number JGBP35WEA3WW I want to convert from natural gas to LP. What kit do I need to order? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Lance, You will need to order conversion kit WB28K10045 for the model provided if they are not located by the gas valve behind the drawer as stated in the units' tech sheet. Convert regulator at the lower left hand rear of the range as viewed from front. Remove the drawer and false panel to access the regulator. Some models have a metal cover over the regulator that must be removed for conversion and reinstalled when the conversion is complete. Remove the large hex-nut from the center of the regulator and remove the plastic pin from the bottom side of the cap. Flip this pin 180° and snap the pin back in place. To replace the orifices, a 7mm nutdriver will be required. The surface burner orifices are color coded to aid in identifying the proper location during conversion. The coding is as follows: LF and LR Blue/Brown, RF Blue/Magenta, and RR Blue/Blue. Read More...
Jeremy S May 03, 2017 for Model Number JGBS60DEKWW Hello, I need to convert my gas range from natural gas range to propane. I have seen many different kits. What exactly would I need for this job?
Sam April 05, 2017 for Model Number JGB290DEN4WW I am needing to switch my GE from LP back to Natural Gas. What parts will I need and are there any other adjustments that need to be made? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Sam, You will need to order one WB28K10187, one WB28K10188, one WB28K10189, and one WB28K10190. The complete holders do not need to be replaced, only the orifices. This is the only way to order the natural gas orifices. To adjust the bake and broil back to natural gas, use a 1/2 inch open end wrench to turn the orifice hoods just below the burners 1 1/2 to two turns counterclockwise. Use the air shutter to adjust any yellow tipping from the flames. You will also need to locate the regulator WB19K10039 and remove the plastic cap and flip the nut under it over. This will complete the conversion. Read More...
1 Answer Neil, The manufacturer does not list a conversion kit for the unit but you can get the orifices which you would need for the the Left front WB28T10017 for the right front WB28T10033 and for the Right rear and left rear WB28K10288. Read More...
David January 22, 2017 for Model Number JGBS23DEM4WW I am replacing a OEM GE WB19K10044 Range Valve Control Assembly PS2577552. The stove is used on a propane system. Does the orifice need to be changed on the new valve control assembly? or does it use the same orifice. If it needs to be changed then I should be able to swap the orifice from the old assembly to the new one, correct? Thanks
1 Answer David, if you're replacing the WB19K10044 Control Valve Asmb. you don't have to switch orifice hoods, the existing hood is adjustable. use a 1/2 in. open end wrench or small crescent wrench and turn the hood 2 or 3 revolutions clockwise (down), the hood will lower down on the internal LP "pin" and the valve is converted. I have had no luck at any local hardwear or appliance stores and was hoping to order one from GE directly, but I am having trouble finding the part on any website also. I'm wondering if maybe they aren't sold anymore or if I'm looking in the wrong places. Thank you in advance
