Lisa November 14, 2021 for Model Number GE JGBP28DED2CT Hi there, We just completed all steps to convert our range from Natural Gas to Propane, following the instructions that came with our range, and the oven is now throwing even larger yellow flames with an even stronger gas smell than before. The instructions were to tighten the hood nuts and open the air vents all the way on the upper and lower burners, and flip the pin inside the hex nut on the regulator 180 degrees. Is there something we missed or should try at this point?
1 Answer Lisa, the limiter in the regulator would need to be checked to ensure that it was not overtightened and that it is snugly set in place. 1 Answer Craig, unfortunately, the manufacturer does not provide the natural gas orifices separately from the orifice holders. The right rear WB28K10187, right front WB28K10189, left rear WB28K10188, and left front WB28K10190 orifice holders would be needed. With the gas valve turned off, the bake orifice would be unscrewed 2 full rotations and the regulator cap would need to be removed to flip the limiter upside down from its current position. The large burner orifice is part number WB28K146, the small burner orifice is part number WB28K5087, and the two matching burners are part number WB28K145.
