Joseph G May 21, 2017 for Model Number GTD42GASJWW We recently ordered this gas dryer from Home Depot for our new home and need a propane conversion kit since gas is not available in our area. I have been told that GTD42GASJWW is not a valid model number and thus can't find the kit i need.All paperwork i have shows that number and of course it is brand new. Hope you can help...Joe
Cliff U October 30, 2016 for Model Number GTDP220GF4WW I purchased an LP conversion kit from Appliance Parts Pros for this GE gas dryer on 10/1/2016. The appliance information indicates the LP conversion kit no. is WE25M43. I received a LP conversion kit WE25X217 from you as an equal. I am having a problem with too much flame and excessive heat in the dryer cabinet. It is so hot on the right side of the cabinet that to hold my hand on it burns it. Obviously we have a serious concern about safety. The kit has been inspected by a GE certified appliance person and they indicate it is installed correctly. Also, I've had the propane gas pressure checked and it is at 12" water column. Sticker calls for 11.0 to 13.0 WC pressure, so were good there. I can only think the conversion kit I received was not the correct substitute for a WE25M43. Could you please do a little research and check to see if WE25X217 is truly the correct LP conversion kit for this unit? Thanks!
1 Answer Cliff, According to the manufacturers website, this LP conversion kit WE25X217 is showing as being the correct conversion kit for the unit. You will want to check the thermostats on the unit to ensure that they are working properly. Read More...
