John A. July 13, 2012 for Model Number MSX22GRXAA (RCA) During this extra hot period with high humidity, my freezer drain is apparently plugged. I'm assuming it's frozen because water runs out the door onto the floor. Is there a timer I should adjust or replace? Is there a way to unplug the drain hole without turning off the refrigerator for a day or two?

Cary July 06, 2012 for Model Number TFX22ZRXDAA GE My side by side is was not defrosting and our electricity went out for 24 hours then it defrosted. After our home power came back on 4 days ago, the freezer is cool but not freezing and the refrigerator is not near as cold as it should be. Is the problem with the defrost control or the defrost thermostat? Could the probem be something else?
1 Answer Hello Cary, The common failure on this model is the defrost heater assembly WR51X442. This is located behind the freezers' back wall. The part I listed is an assembly that includes the defrost thermostat so the only part in the defrost circuit is the defrost timer WR9X489. Read More...
Jlg June 17, 2012 for Model Number TFX24R My Side by Side refrigerator and freezer sections stopped cooling. I can turn the Temp Control knob off for a few minutes and the compressor kicks back on and will continue to run and cool for approximately two days, then it kicks off again. Turn the Temp Control knob off for a few minutes and it will start up again. Does this sould like it is a problem with the Defrost Timer only or maybe something else?
1 Answer Hello Jlg. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the temperature control is bad in the unit and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
Ray May 13, 2012 for Model Number TFX25PPBBWW I try to locate defrost control timer in TFX25PPBBWW. At the top of the fresh food section where the light bulb is, I took out the cover and the two temperature control knots, then I see the two compartments (units)---a smaller retangle unit where the light bulb is attached, and another bigger retangle units. Which unit house the temperature control time? Thanks a lot. Ray
1 Answer Ray, You have a "defrost timer" WR9X489 and you have the correct part number for the part. Once you've removed the control knobs and console, " To remove the control module and air nozzle assembly: first, remove screw(s) at the top of the module housing. Lift the housing to disengage the tabs at the bottom and the nozzle at the left side. Then disconnect the wiring harness from the rear of the module. The control module can then be disassembled from the air nozzle assembly by disengaging the control capillary at the rear and removing the screw at the front. The control module consists basically of the temperature control, the defrost control and the lamp socket. These components are mounted to a metal housing. Each component is available for replacement separately." Good Luck and Thanks Read More...

Todd K March 12, 2012 for Model Number csx26mr My Hotpoint keeps freezing on the Ref. side. I replaced the Control Temp and also purchased the defrost control timer. When I hook it up the defrost control the ref. system does not come on? When I plug it back in? Does this part need to be installed and have everything taken out while the new part has defrosted the unit...? 16 hours 35 minutes. Please explain asap
1 Answer Hello Todd. You will need to thaw out the coils on the unit. When the timer WR9X489 cycles, it does not stay in defrost for 16 hours, it only is in defrost 20 to 30 minutes, and the food will be fine in the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...

Lue B. December 28, 2011 for Model Number 363-9550614 Why is our double door refrigerator freezing on the cooler side ? I have already reduce the temperature side to the very lowest settings on the cooler side, is still freezing all the items on this side. What do you think is responsible for this problems. I have just replace the heating element and the defrost thermostat with new parts. The later got the refrigerator working again. Prior to now, it has just stop working. What else ?
1 Answer Hi Lue. The damper control part # WR2X8582.This part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source for the part. You can remove the damper and open the flap to a 50 % rating and set something in there to keep it open. This will allow more normal temperatures to prevail. The closest model # we can refer this to ends in the letters '12" instead of "14". Thank You. Read More...
