This dishwasher float rises with the water level to engage the float switch. It regulates filling and helps prevent overflows, protecting your kitchen from leaks and keeping wash cycles running properly. What it does:

  • Rises with the tub's water level and actuates the float switch
  • Signals the inlet valve to stop water flow at the correct level
  • A stuck, worn, or broken float may cause overfilling or no-fill conditions
  • Symptoms can include leaking from overfill or no water entering during fill
What's included:
  • 1 float
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and turn off the water supply before servicing
  • Open the door; remove the lower rack for access
  • Lift off any float cap/retainer, pull the old float straight up, and seat the new float
  • Ensure the float moves freely; restore power/water and run a brief fill test

For Ge Float (Water Level) (Part Number: OEM6117414)

Dave for Model Number GSD2000Z07WH

My wife uses the finish dishwashing packet and recently the dishwasher started acting up. The dishes don't really get clean and the soap dispenser opens, however the soap pack doesn't come out of the dispenser. She tried using some dishwasher cleaners bottles and they didn't open up either. I increased my hot water heater temperature to about 145 degrees and it had no effect to the dishwasher operation. I can hear the water inside the dishwasher but I don't know how much. When I open the door while it's operating I don't see any water in the tub of my unit. The heating element does get hot. Do you have any suggestions on what I may need to check and how to check it. I'd rather put a few dollars in this unit than purchase a new one. It is 15 years old but sure has worked well in the past. Thank you

Hello Dave, You should start the machine and listen for the water fill to complete. When the "hissing" of the water valve is done, you should have water within an inch of the heating element. If not, replace the water valve WD15X10003 if voltage is getting to it during the fill time.

Lisa, If you can move the float up and down freely, and hear the water level switch "click" when manipulated, then you'll need to look for an issue in the water fill valve WD15X93 or the water supply line to the dishwasher. Most likely the debris screen is clogged with sediment, or the diaphram or valve seat is coated with chemicals and won't allow the water to enter at full force(7 to 8 gallons per minute). Thanks

Hello Tom. The float WD12X334 is used to determine the water level inside the dishwasher and turns the water on and off by raising and lowering. Hope this helps.
