Bill for Model Number TFX20R

Replacing the water filter for the ice maker. The sticker on my GE fridge door says TFX20R TFXW20R . Water is not filling the cube slots of the ice maker. I hear the water loading cycle regularly & it makes a new, odd noise at the end. The road crew broke a water main a few days ago. Maybe it has a water filter and maybe its WR97X0214. Problem is, i cant find a manual on how to locate it & how to replace it. I'm not sure if i can pull that fridge out from the wall or not. GE literature recommends it be replaced every 6 months. Any help would be appreciated. Thank-you

Bill, The information we have would indicate there is no water filter system in your refrigerator, you would have an "in line" water filter installed on the water supply line to the refrigerator GXRTDR / GXRTDR (probably behind the refrigerator). Chances are pretty good, when the road crew damaged the water line, dirt and sediment entered the water pipes and clogged the shut off valve, filter and/or water valve WR57X77 / WR57X77 which would explain the strange noises and no fill in the ice maker.

Bob, This is an inline water filter that would go on the supply line behind the refrigerator. There should be a water shut off for the supply either on the wall or under the sink or something like that.

Hello Ed. No, you slip the water lines into the holes and those clips help to lock it into place in inside the filter.
